Good news: I've had the in-lab sleep test! It was more of an evaluation really, they needed to figure out the best settings for me personally. It amounted to a horrific night's sleep, but since we were basically test running things that was to be expected.

I should be getting a call from the cpap machine* supplier next week, I'm assuming to set up an order for a specific machine and have it delivered. I won't know how long it'll take to get here until I talk to the supplier, b...

Diagnosed! Which was obvious, but it's always nice to be validated when you know what's going on with your own body. They want me to do an in-house, overnight sleep test anyway to zero in on what exactly my treatment looks like, which I thought would take a week to schedule a date that's another several weeks out, but it's been scheduled for TOMORROW night. Here's hoping I have the same luck when scheduling the follow up/treatment setup.

Update! 3/28

I did the sleep test, and results should take up to two weeks. From there I believe I schedule a follow up with the sleep specialist to discuss treatment, which involves ordering equipment. No idea if they have a variety of options for me to choose from there or if I need to have it delivered from somewhere, but it's all one big process that I'd say I'm in the second half of at this point.

Even if it has to be delivered, I think April is where treatment officially begins! Doing my best ...

Update + Upcoming (3/19)

Went to the GP for two issues that have been plaguing me for anywhere from a couple/few months to actual years: ankle swelling, and The Cough That Never Left. We likely know what the cause of the swelling is but I need a chest x-ray to make sure, which I'll be getting this Saturday. I'm prescription Flonase for the throat issue, but to be honest I wouldn't surprised if I wind up at an ear/nose/throat specialist in the near future.

I just made the soonest available appointment to get everything I need for the at home sleep test for the 26th! The at home test only lasts one night, so if the end of March is about testing and getting back results then it looks like April is still on track to be about getting the actual treatment up and running.

The GREAT news is that the process is going to be much cheaper than I originally thought, which is an all out miracle, tbh. Update + Recording goals for the week!

Health: I've got an appointment with a doctor set up! The actual date isn't until mid-March, but they get daily cancelations so we get to call every day and hope the timing right until then. After a GP visit I'll be referred to a specialist, which comes with its own appointment etc etc. I'm financially anxious about the specialist because I have the bad luck of living in America without insurance, but we won't know the situation until a specialist presents it to us so I'm doi...

General update!

Good news: I finally got the number for the GP I was referred to! They're sliding scale and close by, so I get to call tomorrow and set up an appointment. Fingers crossed I only have to wait a week or so for the actual appointment.

Bad news: It is nearly impossible for me to sleep during nighttime hours, even with a humidifier, because it's too cold and dry at the same time. The cycle involves laying down to sleep, coughing incessantly, sitting up, lungs calm down, lie down, cough inces...

The good news is that I got the inhaler + additional meds I need yesterday! The bad news is I couldn't start taking the meds until today, and last night was the most laughable night of sleep I've had yet--and that's saying something.
