Sorry for the hold up on the February models. Last minute technical difficulties are causing some delays. This month there are 10 models for the Printer tier and 5 additional models in the works for the lord of the land tier.

Phew! Just in time!
Here is the Deadzone Patrolbot.
As I mentioned in my last post, this guy was built using a new technique (virtual kitbashing) and boy was it the fiddliest process I've gone through yet. Certainly took longer than usual but it made it on time! I enjoyed every minute of making this mechanical monstrosity. This thing is easily my favorite of the miniatures I've made (I try to make them better each time so I probably say that too much :p).

Well, here it is. If you're not familiar with the Warhammer 40k backstory, this is a particularly disturbing part of the lore (look up Daemonculaba if you're curious).
When I first started working on this I was like "ah jeez what have I done, this is too messed up..." but I quickly realized this is the sickest most brutal model I've ever sculpted and I absolutely love it! Hopefully you love it too. I will be painting one of these IMMEDIATELY.

So the last month of modelling was another interesting new frontier: Modular builder kits. I gotta say, I like it. having a bunch of pieces that you can reuse for different kits is really cool. Not everybody in the cult of the Dread Gateway is hooked up to soul-draining tubes. Here's a variation that just might be very handy to any Chaos Space Marine players out there.
This is my first time releasing pre-supported minis so if you have any issues printing please let me know! I added a folder of STLs that are 70% of the original size. They're pretty cool as huge monsters but I want them to be easily printable as mediumish sized creatures as well. These smaller ones will definitely be better suite...
This model has the look I like to go for but the process was super different this time. Total blast to make! It put a bunch of new tools in the ole 3D tool bag. Hope you like it!

This is a quick render right after I finished blocking in the whole model. Usually I try to print once each piece is at least represented with a simple proxy object of the same size and shape. Sometimes I do a little sculpting first, depending on the model.

I made a few additions to the designs in the sketches. Lots of sculpting, rounding, smoothing and detailing to do but this is the basic frame of the upcoming void navigator model.
