One night during a subzero polar vortex in Chicago, I put some boots and double coats on my dog and took her out for a short walk. I immediately noticed that:

1. Due to the cold shutting down most business, it was silent outside.
2. There was super dry, easily cracked ice sheets everywhere.

Dirt Machine 3.0 (Reaktor)

I don't know where this idea or structure started, but in 2002-2003 I was dead set on just making my own DAW in Reaktor that I would exclusively use. There are a LOT of versions of this with more diverse 303-like modules, FM, drum synthesis, etc. But they all require a bit of restructuring to work with "post-core" Reaktor versions, particularly after 6.0.

A tune I wrote in late 2018 that simply didn't fit on Our Simulacra, or anywhere really. Honestly I think I was just subconsciously really inspired by Herbie Hancock's 70's records which I were listen to almost exclusively at the time.

This song/melody is eternally in my head though.  I will likely make an improvised piano version or something.

iPad Episode

So, spoiler: My next YouTube feature will likely be about iPad audio production (something I've always had a lot of...frustration with).

I definitely want to explain some of the hardware compatibility woes, but I want to do a comb over of the most interesting, unique, or vital apps.

Is there anything that you are curious about or recommend?  I have a LOT of them already, but there is always a gem I'm missing.

Benn Jordan - Six Air Machines (10 minute song)

This is the music probably most prominently featured in my Patreon video.
It made it in 2018 using a breath controller manually creating rhythm with 6 different wind instruments reading from a short 6-voice composition stretched out x10 to create a slowly evolving ambient melody.
If you're into this type of music, then the first stop is Steve Reich, of course. :)  

BennString (Reaktor Instrument)

A karplus-strong synth I made to try and emulate some of the warm and unstable sound that comes out of the Rings module, yet doesn't seem to sound nearly as good when running the Rings source code outside of the original hardware.   I don't think I was successful, but it's a useful patch.

Probably the best "explainer" track I have. It's been shortlisted on about 20-30 adverts and somehow never once actually used, which is great because it's a godsend for when I want to explain how something works and have something to balance out my annoying pessimism. lol
