Preview of New Design

Hi guys!

Here is a look at a new design for InflateVids. It requires quite a bit of work still, but I thought I'd test the water with your opinions on this new design. Let me know what you think!

Hopefully I'll be able to set up a test website for patrons (and myself) early next year, but until then enjoy observing these images of some key pages.

Will InflateVids shut down?

Short answer: no. Not yet anyways.

Long answer: You might remember the page "funding" on the website (which right now is still online). It states:

If costs aren't fully covered by the end of this year the website would go into an archival mode for a couple months, where videos can only be watched and not uploaded.

Fixed homepage loading time

Hi all! Thanks so much for all of your patronage of the past couple months.

Straight to the point: loading times on the homepage are finally fixed with the temporary removal of the "Trending" section. Loading times on the trending/top videos pages are still horrible. Problem is that there are so many videos and views on the website now that these things just took a really long time to lookup in the database. A fix will be coming later down the line, hopefully returning the Trending sect...

A quick post to note that I am indeed still alive. How are you all doing?

I am currently in the middle of construction and preparing to move. This move will likely still need 3-4 weeks to be completely done and over with. During this time I will try to keep moderating the website (though I have a small team of volunteers to help), but I won't be able to progress on development at all.

To get straight into it, not much has happened on the website. The script has gotten an update fixing some backend things. Truth is that I have just started some contract work to, you know, live. Besides that I have been busy on personal front, including buying a house and traveling to see my parents after half a year of lockdown.

More views - Weekly(tm) Update #8

Oh hello there. Did I just miss a week? Time flies.

So, what has changed in the past two weeks? Well, not much. There has been a change in the code that verifies (new) views. What used to be is that one person (logged in or not) could only generate 1 view per video per year. This has been changed to 1 view per 12 hours for logged in users, and 1 view per 48 hours for "guests".

Why this change? The hope is that the trending page might show older videos more, making old videos visib...

Save on the Bills

Hi patrons!

Thank you so much for your monetary support for hosting InflateVids. Sadly, the bill is going to go over $100 by tomorrow (it is currently on $98.59), so I have considered this for a bit but lowering video quality might be a good solution (at first limit to 720p, if costs keep going up but Patreon support not 480p).

Hey, I did promise it'd happen in February

The website now has the functionality to connect your account to Patreon and get a little badge next to your name! Anyone who is a ($1+) patron gets a gray badge next to their username where there would also be a verified icon. It appears in search results, on your profile, on the watch page and more. Patrons from $10+ get an extra cool orange badge.

What's been going on?

Remember when I said I'd update you lovely patrons weekly? Me too.

Obviously I've been a little distracted by being lazy but also searching a new job. There is still a couple of changes to the website. One being the enforcement of verification, which has removed some videos from the website to protect the site from hosting underage videos.

On the upload page there is now warnings for when people aren't verified. They warn about not being allowed to upload nudity when unverified. T...

Welcome to the couple of new patrons since the last post. Thanks so much for the support! It is much appreciated.

Now, just like last month I'd love to share some stats with you guys. First off, money transparency stuff. Last month's total server fees were $76.90. This is the first month that InflateVids has been fully run, so I'm expecting this figure to stay about the same if not rise a little because more and more people are still discovering this website....
