Design Work - Pennsic Plague Wars

So this is the other thing I’ve been up to lately is helping Sandra to design her Pennsic War t-shirt for this year. The event was, of course, cancelled but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a t-shirt!

Sandra did the line art on the main image and I colored it in Procreate. I did the layout in Photoshop under Sandra’s direction. This was a lot of work but I think we did an awesome job :)

You can see the full image and purchase the t-shirt on her website at 2020-08-04 00:07:27 +0000 UTC View Post

Bolf Spirit

Here it is, the scanned piece alongside the original. I double matted it and added a real boulder opal cab to the bear's forehead, and small Swarovski crystal to the wolf's head. The original looks so cute! Perfect for a little spot on the wall.

The original and prints are now available in my Etsy store

May/June Gift Rewards

Hello everyone!

I know this is a bit late, but with everything that has been going on—the pandemic, the riots, Sandra’s hysterectomy, life in general—I have been struggling to keep up with everything while trying to maintain an even keel. Like many artists I am struggling, but I am managing to detach as needed to power through the chaos and get things done.

However I am ready to send everyone on the gift tier their bi-monthly rewards! This time I have a signed 5x7 mini print...

Taxes :P

Just a heads up - Starting July 1st Patreon is required to collect tax on some pledges. Namely pledges that include a reward. Each state's laws are different, so this will apply to some patrons and not others. I believe Patreon will email those that are effected by the new laws. Considering all of the new interstate tax laws now, I'm surprised they weren't forced to do it sooner.

Less  than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the  amount will be ...

State of the Artist - May 2020

Hello everyone!

I am just checking in with you all to give you a general life update as I've been sort of quiet here the last few weeks.

For those that don't know, at the end of April my soul sister/roommate/business partner Sandra had a hysterectomy, and has been healing well so far. My May has been spent helping her recuperate, running errands, doing household chores, maintaining my Etsy business, and venturing out on some mental health hikes in the neighborhood.

We live i...

A few more ACEOs

Hello everyone!
I know things have been quiet this month. I've been helping Sandra to recover from her surgery at the end of April, taking care of my online business, doing some household chores, running errands, and hiking a bit. I've been trying to get my mojo back up to get some art done, but like a lot of artists I am finding it hard right now. However I did manage to work on some of my remaining ACEOs. Once I finish the Roo and cougar, I have about three more to do (if I can get a hol...

These two are for Jasanni and Kobrin from Wolfhome fame ;)

State of the Artist, and Happy 46th Birthday To Me!

And Happy 74th to my Daddy as well. We share the same birthday!

(this is not my art, but I did alter the text to reflect the current times. This is for everyone who has a birthday during all of this. Make the best of it that you can!)

If you recall, I made a plea a few weeks ago because things for us took a turn. Like many artists, all of our shows, attending and mail-in, have been cancelled into summertime, so our only means of income right now are our sales via our shops, ...

ACEOs - Watercolored

This is the batch of ACEOs I took back in 2017. I am endeavoring to get them finished during quarantine, so I worked on getting them watercolored today. There are a few missing because I can't get a hold of a couple of people to approve their drawings, but I am sure I will track them down. In the mean time, I want to at least get these ones finished.

It's not the best photo, and I may take another one tomorrow, but I just wanted to show you guys that I AM working on art. During this cra...

Hunter Thank You cards

These are the last of the thank you cards that are going out to my Hunters. Each card has a little doodle in it and will feature a little thank you message, and my signature. A mini print will be in the envelope as well. These will go out to my Hunters at random.

Not only do you get this sweet little package when you sign up to the Hunter level, you will also get an awesome gift package in the mail every other month! Higher tiers get these packages as well. So if you aren't at this tier...

The times, they are tough.

For those that do not know, all of  Sandra and I's spring shows, including our local Rio Grande Arts &  Crafts show, Norman Medieval Fair, and many of our mail-in shows have  been cancelled due to the virus (and who knows how many other future  shows will be canceled?). This is a huge blow to our income during this  time, and I know we are not alone. Shows and events are being cancelled  left and right, and has left many of us who depend on these shows reelin...

I Devour Books stickers!

Yay, I finally got these in! I was waiting for the funds, but then Sticker Mule sent me an awesome coupon to check out their hologram stickers, so I used it. I looove them! So shimmery! (and please ignore my ratty fingernails LOL).

Everyone at the $15+ gift level and up will be getting one of these in their gift package this month (sorry it's late. February has been absolutely insane) as well as a print of "Ancient Wisdom". So if you aren't on any of those tiers and want some goodies, l...

Hathor WIP06

So at this point I think I am -maybe- finished? I still need to maybe tweak a couple of things, but my eye isn't catching anything that looks like it needs fixing really. Perhaps better outline that sistrum better? At any rate, she will be finished tonight so I can get her scanned and prints printed. I will let you all know when prints are available!

Hathor WIP01 - Sketching

So I guess I am on a roll!

Pantheacon is coming up, the Pagan convention we do every year in San Jose, and this is its last year (NOOOOO!!!) I wanted to do another Egyptian piece, and Hathor was my natural choice. She is the daughter of Ra, and was considered a primeval goddess from whom all others were derived. Sekhmet is her form of rage, and she was later associated with the goddess Isis. She is the goddess of rebirth, motherhood, women's health, light, inspiration, kindness, gratitu...

Ancient Wisdom

Here it is, the finished piece. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. It felt really good just to do a piece of art that is mine, and connected to the novels I am writing. This is one of the key characters in my books, but one that will not be revealed for some time.

Plus. it was awesome to do a proper dire wolf character. I think I pulled off that whole dire wolf look I was going for: the meatier head, wide-set, small ears, the bigger, blocky muzzle, the small eyes. It insp...

Moon Roses are HERE!

I -finally- got the Moon Roses stickers in, and they will be shipping out next week!

Thank you all so much for being patient with me on this. The holiday season is always brutal, with too many shows and then the barrage of online ordering, so I've had a lot to deal with. But I finally have everything in and I can start sending out rewards!

I Devour Books! Promo Sticker

Here's a little preview of something I am doing in October. In an effort to get those who have read my novel "Hunger" to leave me an Amazon review, I am going to be sending out these highly exclusive stickers to anyone who has read the book to leave an honest review on Amazon. My goal is to get more than 50 reviews, as that put me in a higher ranking on Amazon, thus (hopefully) more readers. If someone -hasn't- read the book, they can purchase it on Amazon, read it, review it, and then get th...

Santa Fe Ren Fair, Anthro NW, and the fall/winter schedule.

Last weekend's Santa Fe Ren Fair was the best weekend yet for that show. Because they finally advertised, people came out in droves on Saturday! Sadly the rain moved in on Sunday and the crowds weren't as good, but it is always such a nice little local ren fair for us.

Now that the summer shows are officially behind us, I can begin getting back into the groove of things again. At least for a little while. October will have two weekends of the Rio Grande Balloon Fiesta Art Show which is ...
