Prydz Reese Bass
Episode 4 is up and for 5 I think I will mix without the camera on first as it's a lot of little things to go through :).

Good times ahead. Getting that dusty groove feel. Can't believe that Saturn plugin. The dynamics button is crazy nice

Hey guys,
New series has started and I am filming episode 2 as we speak which will be up in a few for you.
Also a quick side note, I noticed a lot of comments etc on the ozone 9 video and was thinking of starting reviews of plugins too. You guys have any recommended plugins I should have a look at?
Cheers,

Hey guys,
Had a good time messing about a bit. Enjoy this track critque. Personally the compression is over the top so maybe that MU compressor would be much better suited.
Cheers!

Here is a quick video how I use Gullfoss. Interesting little plugin that adds the last few procent

1. Switch to mono, or open up a vector scope
2. Pop in Pryda and go back and forth to balance out low mid and high :)
3. I really like the progression and lead/bass sound haha

Here is a quick video about bass. Now it is completely fine to cut low end frequencies, I do find that cutting bass frequencies tends to come with a loss of bass or a massive bump when using steep curves. I suggest straying away from cutting and letting the mastering engineer cut that last part if it is actually needed.

Hey guys,
Doing a bit of work again for PML. (time is being generous for the first time in 3 years haha) Make sure to pick up the free mastering chain. It's the same thought process as the other video made for Durrs earlier but this time explained a bit slower :). Another video will be up which will be the advanced version of this chain. Will keep you posted

Hey guys,
Had a question come in on how to make a loud master. Have a look and if any of you have questions just ask :).
1. Have your mix as punchy as you need to and use parallel processing via sends (harmonic compression, drum compression etc)
2. Compression again set to punchy on the master (the more emphasis on transients the louder and more obnoxious it will seem)
3. EQ, enhance the track.. generally go for the presence. Too much bass will sound too wolly an...

Hey guys,
Not sure if PML got in contact with you or did any promotions but the course I did about 3-4 years ago has been updated. If you have an account with them you should be able to view it :).
(EDIT) turns out you have to buy it again which is a bit weird (I am contacting them to see what's up)
Hey guys,
So, I wanted to replace the WTF episodes with "into the mix" as it is a much more suitable title haha. Anyway, I have an episode up now and made another one too but I have not heard from the artist in question for quit some time now. Anyway, enjoy!

Checklist:
1. Does it need to be mono compatible? (if so mix in mono so you can get that to sit right)
2. Double check your peaks (use compression)
3. Sub bass is very nice so give that a look to add in.
4. online release=-1 ceiling (match LUFS to reference track and listen for distortion)
Hey Guys,
There is still a massive amount to do on the Ableton 10.1 song so I decided to film it unedited and just fix things at a comfortable speed. Do you guys think I should edit it?

Kilohearts Transient shaper is by far the best little device for this. Highly suggest picking this up. Speaking of the next tutorial of mixing in the box will be solely with KiloHearts.

The benefit is overall harmonics, sharing of adsr feel (compression), corrective eq. In other words glueing together the track due to shared sonic characteristics.
Quick tip:
For each decide before what you want the song to sound like. More top end, more warmth etc. After choose each part and keep your goal in mind. Make sure you consistently A/B and make sure B is not louder. That way you hear the difference without it being louder. Don't bother trying to make them equal lo...

Not an expert in this field but from the projects I have seen this is the gist of it. Speaking of, I also suggest using Filterfreak on that rumble

Laundry list:
1. Repeating euro rack arp
2. Repeating autopanning loop percussive Euro rack
3. Brilliant kick
4. Chord mid side use filter to open it towards the build (pop progression)
5. Bass is another euro rack tom based bass line
6. Effects Wide as can be
7. Meldodies you do not need to pay attention to in the back via reverb directly on sound and filtered
8. Melody you do need attention for open and open delay (ping pong on 1/8th) 2019-07-31 15:58:26 +0000 UTC View Post
A little secret from back in the day.
The chain was Elysia Nvelope to api2500 to a custom built parametric eq out to a telefunken tape (optional).
