Well, I would personally mix it a little dirtier specifically the hats *more mids. Also, please follow the chord progression when you get to the airport stuff. Just filter the low end in :)

First, put on a limiter so it's roughly as loud as the reference. From there match the vocal level with the reference. After that go through the list I gave you and leave the limiter on. As soon as you notice farting around (distortion) hunt down what it could be (will be the kick) turn that down and find your new balance

Great tip from La Giang about arranging a foundation.
Overall, fix a click. Maybe add in a bit of top end on the kick and try out type a on the master.

you can do this if you like however you have input controls on most plugins. My rule would be.. don't bother and adjust the input if your plugin is distorting too hard.

Low end is fine :)

Couple of little things.
Set the kick louder, side chain a little more (maybe), check mid side reference and add in side groove part (same level same frequency area), check the release of the bass sample (bit longer). Overall slower release to make the track bounce with a 2bus compressor (any compressor with a release knob will do)

Hey,
So watch out how hot you go into your mastering chain. The top end is also way over top. So go and double check these two things before worrying about how the bass sounds :)

You will have to get a bit rude on the mixbus to get it to a fatter standard. Overall great mix. Nothing really stood out. Just the overall rudeness

When creating do your own thing. Do what feels right for you. When mixing just split the drum rack out and mix like that. It is way less fiddly

Simply duplicate the midi or audio track with the delay on it. After take 1 copy and freeze plus flatten. Then you have the audio and you can do anything you like with it

Well, it's definitely an improvement but I am wondering if you like your kick drum? If not have a little feel with the suggestion and see if that works for you

Brilliant work on the drums. If we compare and contrast you will have to be a bit "warmer/duller" etc.. That means finding elements in your track and focus more on the lower side vs the top side

Bit of vocal work so there is a tail to it. Use the "migic" box haha. Also a send fx so that the ME repeats or play a question answer thing with the piano.
Good job overall though!

It's an incredibly refreshing to hear no bass in this genre but I do suggest finding a middle ground. Longer kick and thicker (EQ) will make the track seem way more impressive.
For the rest, have a mid side check. Just to see if you can maybe rely on a bit of panning vs too many imagers. Have a look to see if that will work for you

Great job on the chord sound design! Couple of stand out things that need to be adjusted but after that smooth sailing

Not bad at all. Super happy to hear you progressing. Little things to change this time. Keep rocking man

no, don't get that. First just setup your room with the general rules and get speakers stands. After get your hands on some "free" isolation material and simply build boxes fill with isolation material. Sub can be added after all these steps. You can also use your ears for checking your room. You do not necessarily need a microphone at this stage.

The genre is difficult as you are on a fine line. Personally I would bring it to 2022 which means thick low end (bit more hifi). The night rider 303 can go down a bit in volume. Bit more side chaining overall and you should have a more butt kicking mix

Again, great job. Vocals sound very good this time around. The instrumental just needs to match the top end. 2 ways of doing that. Either the quick and dirty way or the less quick way.
1. Group all the instrumental and throw on a type a. Adjust mix knob (you might get lucky)
2. Or.. Use an exiter on a send and throw in certain elements

So, it's really not bad at all! Bit of top end trickery via multiband distortion (bit of it) and you should be alright.

So, absolutely brilliant work again! Mixes and production are growing every time. Try to get from Janitor level mixing (clean and organised) to "emotional intent" mixing. The latter being where rules and levels etc stop being a thing. Just get in to the head of the listener and fuck with them a little. Dissonance, distortion, bit rate, granular etc etc.
Sorry for all the trauma jokes there. They just kept popping out

The internal sidechain will sort out your volume dips and with an EQ after the compressor you can balance a little easier. See the latter EQ as make up gain

So, reverb is the Achilles heel here. As soon as you have the fundamental part of the mix sorted. (aka fat af low end with a kick that sits in front) everything else should be easy to mix from. Having this part off makes everything extremely difficult.

in order:
1. Turn up gain till it is where it needs to be
2. Find problem and deal with it if limiter is distorting too heavy
3. Balance the master
4. Set lookahead time for "louder masters aka clipping"
5. Adjust attack and release times
Generally I do not have to do more than step 1.. sometimes go to step 3.. and 1 in 10 projects I have to go to step 5

Anyway, good job dude. Really hit the nail on the head with lo fi drums. Lovely swells.
Just keep dj seinfeld out of any type of reference and steer just a tad more towards Ross.
please please make a radio edit and show off your awesome skill with that bass,
