Callisto v0.70 - Week 18

Got a big week ahead of me, attempting to tidy up the loose ends, to allow the release of the beta. Going to put my head down and work over the weekend in an attempt to release next week. Have about 1 day to close out the battle renders and then few days for the aftermath, prior to final coding tweaks and testing. Looking forward to put a bow on this sucker.

Callisto v0.70 - Week 16 Update

Working through the final renders of the main story line to prepare the game to be ready for beta. Also took the opportunity last week to do all of the image processing (enhancements / glitch correction). On top of this, did all of the video encoding for animations for v0.70. May include 1 more action animation, as I think it will add something to a critical event at the end of the main story line. Need a good sound effect to go along with the animation as well.

Working on the stills for the final portion of the main story, which represents the majority of what is left before beta release. While this is going on, my 2nd GPU is crunching out the last of the animation frames. The frames for the animations should complete on the weekend, which will allow the post processing and encoding next week. Callisto v0.70 - Week 14 Update

Spent the week doing lewd animations for the upcoming release. Just one animation remaining to pose, plus a few related stills. Whilst these animations are threesomes and require a little more work than the standard animations, they don't compare to the pole dancing animations. Invested a little more time on these, to ensure that the little details and lighting are optimised. It's surprising how very subtle movements can have a huge impact on the quality of the result. Callisto v0.70 - Week 13 Update

My GPU is off and processing animations for the v0.70 release. The posing for these animations will continue and hopefully conclude, next week. Weekly progress is now starting to align with the forecast work, as the renders become a little more straight forward. What is clear however, is that the release of the beta will not arrive until next month. As a result, I will once again suspend Patreon payments, hence nobody will be billed at the start of August.

The renders over the past week have had a higher technical challenge due to the scene complexity. Although with this challenge, comes some very nice results. The main story training sequences are now complete and I'll make the switch to the Tanya backstory next week.

Callisto v0.70 - Week 10 Update

Had a little change of pace this week as I switched my attention to some renders related to the Sam backstory. Was a nice change to switch to a more creative set, rather than the cranking out of many images with adjusted character posing. They take significantly longer per image, as the set and lighting has to be customised for each image, however they provide more satisfaction upon completion.

Callisto v0.70 - Week 8 Update

Last week was spent crunching through the renders with the new recruits on Dione. Each image is multi-character, hence multiple figures to pose per frame. This made progress on this portion a little slow. There was also a fight scene which always causes complexity with figure posing. Most of the remaining images in the main story involve fewer figures in the scene, hence progress should be easier to achieve.

The last week has been less than ideal in terms of game development. Came down with a pretty crappy head cold, that has been plaguing me all week. It is in decline (only cough left), however much of the week was spent in bed. As such development progress on the games was virtually nil.

Head down and tail up generating the images for the main story for v0.70. Really just running though the script and generating images as they are required. The other activity during the week, was to resolve the script for the Tanya backstory. It has gone through a few iterations, however except for a couple minor tweaks it is now resolved. Callisto v0.70 - Week 3 Update

The main story script is complete and is currently being reviewed by the Callisto team. As part of this script, I wanted to mesh in the outcomes of the side missions and other items such as your martial arts training with Kara. Additionally, there are far more choices to be made, affecting outcomes in the main story. As I get closer to the end of the game (version 1.0), I can afford to branch more extensively. The increase in branching is clearly visible in the coding of the main story.

Callisto v0.60 Update - Week 9

The current version is in the final stages of development, prior to the release of the beta. Following of the completion of the piracy and salvage coding, a couple of things became apparent. It would require more testing than originally thought, due to the shear number of permutations. Secondly, that the interaction with the 3rd side mission reward is far simpler. As a result, I have elected to defer the completion of the side mission until after the beta release.

Callisto v0.60 Update - Week 8

Firstly thanks to all those that voted in the Pirate Poll. The results are really not what I expected. One of the interesting things is that Kaa'na and Kii'na are based upon the same asset. The asset creator updated the asset last week to G8.1F and also changed the skin. Funny thing is, that all of you seem to prefer the older Kaa'na variant, than the newer Kii'na variant. Been a busy week cranking out the renders for the final scenes in the main storyline for v0.60. Since the last update, I have posed 106 images and 7 animations. The images have already been rendered, however the animations are still in the render queue. Some of these have turned out really well, due to the focus placed on lighting and also some high quality assets. You don't have to take my word for it, as can be seen below.

Bit of a change of pace this week, as I placed additional focus on the writing / coding side of the game. During the course of the week I completed the writing / coding for the main story with only the renders of final portion to be completed. Over the last couple of days, I have also written / coded the 3rd side mission. This side mission will give greater insight into two more races in the Orion sector.

Nearing the end of the action part of the main story renders as I put the finishing touches on the combat scenes. These scenes, due to the number of effects, take far longer than typical images to create.
