It's time to take a nice little trip to the zoo! Hope no SCARY EVIL animals get us! This globetrotting CBS thriller is based on a James Patterson novel, but it's hard to imagine anyone involved with its production reading a book. Let's watch one of the silliest Lostalikes ever.
Tune in for discussion of Venom.

Hey patrons! We're back on the pre-Lost pilots train this month, looking at the first episode of Alias, a complicated spy drama that gave away a shocking amount of its plot in the commercials prior to its airing. Thanks as always for your continued support, and enjoy the show!

You guys know the drill... extra long show, extra long notes. Though come to think of it, I've said that a show's notes are extra long, like... five times now. Maybe this is just the new normal. Maybe this is the new reality we've all woken up to, as if our small town has just witnessed a nuclear explosion. Or if we're in Cretaceous times with reptiles all around us. Or if there's a Zoo. We're watching Zoo this month, that's pretty exciting. Take care!

You’re picking up a frequency from a nearby town….it’s a new episode of The Lost Broadcasts! This month we’re talking about Jericho, a just-barely-post-apocalypse show about a small Kansas town trying to survive in the wake of a large nuclear attack on American cities. Did YOUR home town make it out alive? You’ll just have to keep listening to this transmission to find out…..
Tune in for discussion of Garfield, Decker, and Jewish Anakin.

Hey listeners! We have a question for you. In the course of editing recent episodes, I (Esther) have grown frustrated with the quality of our audio. Since the show started, we've been working with a starter USB mic, a cheap Blue Yeti, with a "bidirectional" gimmick that lets it record both of our voices. But since it's not a great setup, it leads to a lot of peaking and blow-outs which, to my ear, negatively affect the quality of our sound.
With that in mind, Hannah and I are debating ...

Hey patrons! We've got something a little different for our bonus episode this month. On our main episodes we've frequently made reference to a "pitch document" for Lost we found online which outlines the initial ideas and episode concepts for the show that were presented to the network after the filming of the pilot. For this month's bonus, in honor of the 20th anniversary of Lost's premiere, we're breaking down this strange artifact for you. The main takeaway: they lied so, SO much about wh...

Hey everyone! Hannah here with our first set of show notes for season 2 - apologies for the lateness, we've been in and out of travel a lot over the last couple weeks. As an apology, this set is vicious and punchy, just how you guys like it. Also, the arc word for this set of notes is "ROMULUS." Puzzle that one out for the next month, if that's what you're into. Till our next bonus episode drops, take care!

The Lost Broadcasts is BACK for season two! For our first arc, we're entering New Worlds, and the first new world is.....an old one?! Terra Nova takes one Disney-style family back to Jurassic times to live in a colony run by Colonel Quaritch from Avatar. Really it's just a lot of Avatar across the board. Does the show have the powerful roar of a Tyrannosaur, or the pathetic limpness of some kind of ancient plant?
Tune in for discussion of Chompers, Slashers, and Gleebos.

Hey, everyone! We're officially kicking off Season 2 of our bonus feed with an episode that takes the coolest show you've ever watched... and multiplies it by X. It's the X-Files! The 1993 classic that we've probably talked about on our main episodes more than any non-Lost show. It's an absolute titan of the genre, and watching the pilot, you can instantly see why. We had a lot of fun with this one, and are gonna be continuing watching the show in our spare time over the next months. We hope ...

Hey everyone! Here's that promised SECOND bonus episode during our hiatus month - covering the bizarre and unbelievable shows that premiered and concluded in the same network TV season as Lost's premiere.
We've got some disgusting reality shows, a cop procedural with one of the goofiest premises of all time, and a clown who brought tears of joy to Esther's face. Expect a return to our regularly scheduled programming shortly - we're all rested up from our month off. Till then, thanks so...

Heya! We're still on hiatus from the main show, but that's not gonna stop us from watching another pilot for a successful Lostalike!
Manifest has some classic Lostalike elements: a plane disaster, for starters, as well as some mystical mysteries involving its passengers. Later on, we run down some of the late-series plot synopses. Seems like lava plays a key role. Anyway, hope you enjoy, and thanks for your support!

Hi everyone, it's Hannah with one last set of season 1 notes. You're gonna miss these when they're gone, huh? Season 2 notes are gonna be nothing like these ones. There's gonna be a mystery box element. My notes posts on the Patreon will just send you to links for discontinued ARGs. "Arc words" that appear in our Next Episode polls will somehow be involved in the solutions. Anyway here's Under the Dome notes, including all seventeen instances where we wrote down quotes containing the word "do...

You guys know the drill by now. We're taking July off, but when we get back, we're gonna kick off another block of themed episodes, based on what you lovely Divorcees and Hybrids want out of us. So what'll it be? Poll runs till the Under the Dome episode goes live on our free feed. Till then... HAGS. HAGS. Hags.

As the first season of The Lost Broadcasts comes to a close, Hannah and Esther dive into the first Lostalike to run for more than two seasons! It only ran for three, but who’s counting? Under the Dome is adapted from the Stephen King novel of the same name, but it goes in some wildly divergent directions.

Hey everyone! Smack dab in the middle of the month, we've got a new bonus episode for you. We've handled a children's Lostalike before... now it's time for us to experience a YA Lostalike.
The 100 is a lot of things, many of them goofy and bad, but we'd never accuse it of being boring. We hope you enjoy our time with this bewilderingly-paced schlock as much as we did, and as always, thanks so much for supporting us.

Hannah here! And definitely NOT Esther doing this part of the post for Hannah. Here are the promised show notes for our episode on V. We actually had fairly few compared to previous months. This show truly broke us. As usual, I’ve included a PDF version for those of you who prefer to read them that way. See you all next month! Buhhhh guhhhh I'm Hannah this is what I sound like guhhhhhhhhh
Hi everyone! Same procedure as last time... we're trying to figure out how to wrap up our "first season" before taking July off*, and none of our options perfectly fit our current alien them and/or our Lostalike requirements, but we gotta do something. So please vote from among these choices! I've included a write-in option, but you should only pick that if you're ready to comment on this post with a slam dunk Lostalike about aliens that we've somehow missed thus far. Other than that, thanks...

V is a versatile little letter. Could stand for Victory, or Viciousness. Could stand for Values, or Violence. Also it means five. But on this 2009 sci-fi thriller, V stands for Visitors.......from another world!

Hey folks! For this month's bonus, we watch the pilot of The Leftovers. The best Lostalike. The best... TV show? It's possible. But we're not the kind of podcast that judges that.
Note that this is Hannah's first time editing the podcast, and she did a really bad job, so listeners on headphones should be careful around 00:58.

Hannah here! This set of notes is extra long because there's a whole bonus section where we just catalogue observations from the episodes we watched from seasons 1 and 2 of Torchwood. Those being Countrycide, Adam, and Exit Wounds. We didn't even discuss those on the show, really! So you all get an exclusive treat. As usual, I've included a PDF version if any of you prefer reading them like that. See you all next month!
PATREON NOTES
Things are getting crazy on The Lost Broadcasts……this month we’re covering the third season of a British procedural spinoff of Doctor Who that was like the X-Files with gay guys. Until, that is, they decided to be like Lost!

Hannah here! I've another set of notes for all our paid subscribers, and given we had 22 episodes of material to work with, it's an extra long set this time. Enjoy a lot of insane snippets of dialogue and surprisingly few aesthetic observations - it was just that kind of show. As usual, I've included a PDF version if any of you prefer reading them like that. See you all next month!
PATREON NOTES: THE EVENT
Throughout our history, mankind has been shaped by them. Some call them Incidents. Some call them Situations. To us….they are Events. But what is THE Event, on this sprawling conspiracy thriller series? To learn that, you’ll just have to listen.

Hi there! Hannah here with another set of episode notes for our $1 patrons and above. These ones are definitely more whimsical than other recent sets, since we genuinely enjoyed our time watching Drive. There's also one joke that only works in the PDF version of these notes, since idk how to include in-line images in these Patreon text posts. If you want to know the punchline of that joke, you'll have to download a PDF and open it up in the PDF reader of your choice. Seems like a fair deal to...

Hey, everyone. By now, you might've heard the news we mentioned at the end of our Drive episode - that we're leaving it up to our patrons to decide what we're watching next. Whichever one you all pick will determine not just our immediate next episode, but the next few shows we'll watch in a sorta loose thematic grouping - so if The Event wins, for example, we'll probably do a few alien shows in a row. Accordingly, these polls will be an "every so often" thing and not a monthly thing. We'll k...
