I was thinking about where I could take this scene for the variant versions and thought, maybe it's more of a group resort situation? I don't think this version is canon, but, it's fun to imagine!! The simpler painting style that I used for the characters in this scene worked to my advantage, made it easier to add a whole bunch of other dudes.

Also a sunset version cause I'm addicted to painting bright fruity sunset colors. Enjoy!!

Best way to escape winter in new england is with a vacation to somewhere in the tropics!! Kal splashed out on a nice beach hotel with a private pool. And now Eddie's enjoying some breakfast... after breakfast 👅

I have high hopes for the colors and lighting in this painting!! Gonna pursue a Ghibli-inspired vibe to it, lets see if that comes through in the end 🧐

You guys voted that this month's painting would be a wild card, and this is what I came up with! It's the dead of winter and the dads of the neighborhood are on their monthly weekend trip up to the cabin, hitting the hot tub in the backyard at night... and they're all pretty comfortable around each other! not clear what got the dad on the right so excited, but he's def not shy about it 🍆 and yeah, that's Coach Dad sitting in the tub!

I'm wicked excited to paint all the details...

bonus painting! got inspired to do a one-off of Seamus suffering from a hangover the morning after going to the show with Eddie and self-medicating the best way a guy can.

no porn or distractions needed, maybe he's letting his mind wander back to how it felt to carry his cute scruffy roommate around on his shoulders like that all night... 🤔💦

Some different approaches to the lighting, and shirts! The bright pink background lighting setup was actually my initial idea for this scene, but I went with the dark background in the canon version cause I think it reads better from a distance. I like aspects of the pink lighting too cause it brings out the skin tones better and makes it feel a little more physical.

Got this painting across the finish line!! it was a doozy to work on with all those people in the crowd but I'm proud of how it turned out, plus it was super fun to get absorbed in! I've been dying to share this scene with you guys for ages, cause I think it shows how Seamus and Eddie have a close friendship and common interests that exist outside the vignettes we've seen them in together so far. And there's that totally-platonic physical intimacy of the shirtless shoulder ride itself... gosh...

alright here we are! I've had this idea in mind for a really long time, cause I wanted to show how Seamus and Eddie have a lot of common interests and have a lot of fun together, and I also love the casual "unintentional" physical intimacy of a shoulder ride at a concert. I like showing these two out and enjoying each other's company to show the kind of close friendship they have.
