Hello again! I am back to business after the unluckiest family holiday I've ever experienced, as detailed in my previous post. Where to start... January threw my family and I for a wild loop. My dad came to visit just before New Year's, and he wound up in the emergency room several times for DIFFERENT things, had multiple invasive surgeries, nearly bled out, and lastly broke the ankle he could actually walk on. (NSFW) Guiding hand

Crowley can hardly believe he’s the one allowed to do this, to have this trust, to carefully position these ropes and tighten the knots, to see his angel’s posture soften into it, to witness and to work, and let the happiness wash over them both.

I thought, oh, I’m too lazy to do a background. So I spend an hour on a halo you can’t see half of, of course. But I haven't done sub Aziraphale in a long time, and we're overdue.

I am sick with a gnarly head cold, and I'm trying to get better in record time for my son's birthday party, so I've just been mainlining cold medicine and sleeping. Lovers' ballet

I'm really happy with this. It feels like Crowley is sinking down into a kiss. I was going to give them a black dress, but honestly Crowley deserves pink, and what better time than now.

What's the most romantic song you've ever heard? For me, there's a lot of competition, but right this minute I'll say it's Sault's "Masterpiece". I want to hear yours.

WIP: Lover's ballet

I love ballet. I was going to do another Nutcracker Suite piece, but then saw this pose from Romeo & Juliet and it was so intimate it knocked the wind clear out of me. The trust, the tenderness -- this is two people in love for the first (and last) time, totally without fear, ready to lose themselves. Happy to lose themselves.

Gonna color this, maybe try something a little bit different. We'll see!

WIP: Cardinal

I thought I'd try to get a jump on the paper piece this month, since the back third of December is always bonkers for me, but especially this year.

I grew up in Ohio, near Cleveland, and the state bird is the cardinal. Wintertime always makes me think of vivid red cardinals against a snowy landscape, and they always look like such handsome, thoughtful little birds. Maybe their dapper plumage would remind Aziraphale of his best friend.

It’s been rainy and overcast here. Nice weather for snuggling up with an angel/demon you just met (he seems perfectly nice and he’s very pretty).

Four styles

Neil Gaiman said something on Tumblr the other day that referenced Crowley's "first and fourth" hairstyles in Season 2, and naturally we all got very excited. A lot of folks have drawn Crowley with four different styles, and I couldn't resist!

We've got a Lauren Bacall, some viking braids, a Joey Ramone, and a Bowie, of course.

What other styles would you love to see on our favorite demon?

There was some discourse on Twitter about fans needlessly sexualizing Crowley and Aziraphale, and I just had to laugh about it. If there's any demon in the pantheon who'd wear a miniskirt and gratuitously bend over to pick up a pound coin directly outside the door to A.Z. Fell & Co -- while an angel looks on and thinks how he's going to have to Windex ass prints off the glass when he's done enjoying the view -- it's Crowley.
