Matching elves 4-6

Some more of these! This mostly B&W style is very fast to finish, which has been really helpful for me lately.

I'm a bit torn on how to sign these, since I did finish them in 2024, but I'll be posting them all in 2025

I tidied up this one a bit like the previous one. I think I like this style for now, it's helping me get stuff out of the workshop. I've cleaned up a bunch of the matching elves pictures as well, I just need to check which of those I've already posted for you folks.

I got part way thru posting this, and then realised her femur was like wayyyy too long, so i quickly shortened it a bit.

Merry Crisis to you all, I got you six matching elves. Focussing on finishing things; if I'm struggling to ink and colour, I'll just clean up sketches.

Guts servicing sketch 2

Cleaned this one a bit, did a rough shade, slapped a gradient map on it. I'm really frustrated by not being able to finish anything, so I might just start tidying up sketches

Scratchy

Warmed up by roughly inking this. I just set my pencil to monochrome, and I don't mind the scratchy lines, but I'm not happy with it overall. Struggling with rendering, I'm out of practice tbh

Interupted sketch 1-4

Here are the first four pages sketched out of this 3rd installment with Wells, Brooke, and Rö. It's funny, I have just realised that only Wells and Rö have actually been named in the comic, and only in the 2nd one. Maybe I will have to work Brooke's name into this one at some point.

It's only about 2/3rds thumbed out so far, so I'm hoping that by the time I get towards the end of the existing thumbs, I'll have the vibe rolling and I can work out how to conclude it. I think this one w...

Tentacle sketches

I think someone taking a selfie while getting railed by tentacles is really funny. I love the way it changes the vibe completely, turning a danger/noncon scenario into something silly.

Not gonna do anything with these, just keeping the drawing muscles warm

More silly cyborg ish stuff

I keep just sketching new stuff instead of finishing anything. That's not quite true, I've started roughing out pages of those thumbnails of a third Wells, Brooke and Rö comic I posted aaaages ago. Would you folks be interested in seeing the sketch stage of comic pages as I get to them, or all at once later?

More cyborg sketches

New body installation, some head (geddit), and some testing-til-failure

I think the idea of a brand-new cyborg body coming with "remove before first use" stickers is funny. "Sealed for your protection". Like how you gotta peel stickers off the screen of a new phone, or pull little plastic dust protection caps off the end of new cables, or those red 'remove before flight' tags that dangle from aircraft.

Diagnostics

I haven't been very capable of finishing anything, but the sketches are sure piling up. Maybe I will start to post some of them on my regular socials, I dunno.

Another cyborg, looks like she's having her lungs replaced. Oh and possibly some kind of process being applied to her guts, I'm sure there's a sensible explanation for img 2 and 3 (I haven't rly been able to think of any)

Something that occurred to me while I was sketching this is that if you open a cute cyborg's belly to mess around w her robot organs/whatever, she no longer really has any muscles to sit up with, which made me think about what sort of work-fixtures and harnesses you'd use while working on a conscious cyborg girl. Watching a lot of machining videos on youtube has made me realise that work-holding is often a much more significant part of any craft than you might realise.

Tentacles concept

Tentacles and a low-angle camera. I think it looks pretty good, but I want to rework it and tighten up the 3d form. Might try to find a ref of a similar angle?

Outback (geddit?)

EDIT 2: I tried a slight alteration to the butt line (new first image) to make it look like he's going harder at it, but I'm not quite sure how successful I've been. In any case, I think I've probably fiddled with this image enough, given how silly the boobs-and-butt twisted anatomy already is.

EDIT: I wasn't happy with the wet tshirt rendering after all, so I did a quick second pass. I also shifted the vague light direction so it's more overhead

More practice with monochrome rendering. It's really cool stuff but I'm still struggling with it. Admittedly, some of that is struggling with CSP itself. I thought I understood how it worked with converting greyscale layers to screentone, but it seems to only behave consistently with single layers. Weird stuff.

I think this is from when I was going through peak enthusiasm for matching girls. Twins vibes, but supernatural so it’s not internet-illegal fictionalised incest. I think these are like some kind of magically manufactured homunculus or something. Or maybe one being that’s duplicated itself. Here are two characters from my magic finishing school comic concept. I'm trying to work out a comfortable style, but still struggling with black and white.

Hardcover 2024!

Here is one panel (of twelve!) of my work for Hardcover2024! There will be a kickstarter for it soon, in october, and I'm just so stoked to be included. I have talked a bit about what hardcover means to me before, but I want to reiterate how much it represents a push back against the increasing prudishness of social media and ecommerce. it's very cool! I have collected all three so far, and I'm very pleased to own them

Thinking in b&w

I want to study black and white rendering, because I really like it, but I haven't developed my artistic eye to really see it. So one part of this process is pushing blacks and greys and whites around to practice how they work, which these two quick sketches are. The composition of the first one actually came to me in the shower, but the image was centered around the triangular shadow behind her rather than the fun sexy sex.

Dragon (WIP?)

EDIT: I made a version without the colouring that kinda ended up looking like bruising. I was thinking about colour-show-thru, like when you draw a glowing cock, but it didn't rly work out how I imagined, and I didn't realise it could look like injury. Old version in 2nd image.

I did a bunch of painting on this today, but I don't know if I'm happy with it. It's like, between being a flat-coloured and a rendered pic. I think the shading sorta lacks contrast and volume? But ...

Drawing again

I have had a lot of trouble spooling up the drawing engine again after spending a week or two in heavy moving house hell, ouch my arms. Settling in to new place now, and getting back into practice bit by bit. I'm trying to focus on finishing a commission that I've been working on bit by bit for probably more than a month now. I know often ppl are happy to wait that long, but I usually finish comms in more like a couple weeks, so it's frustrating!

I finished this one off, really went ham with the lighting. I think the warm is super nice, but I did initially envision cool nighttime lighting, so I might re-light it again another day and see which I like better. I find it really helps to come back to a piece after a day or two. Usually I forget what I was dissatisfied with and I'm just like "aw that's cool"
