Thanks for all the great character recco's everyone!
As it turns out, Gravity Falls ended up winning by a landslide. And after watching a few episodes, I knew I had to draw Mabel with her grappling hook.
If your character wasn't picked this time, hang tight!- I'll be hosting another poll this month. I also take note of all your suggestions if i happen to run out of ideas lol)

In the comments, drop a character you'd like to see in my style. It can be from anything- a movie, show, game, fiction, non-fiction etc.
Once there's enough submissions, I'll make a new post with a poll and we can all vote on a winner π«‘ it's like a democracy or something!

Happy Friday, Patreon Fam π€
Just wanted to share a fun little project Iβve been working on. For this series of digital illustrations, I wanted to challenge myself with 3-4 smaller drawing that follow a similar art style, in both anatomy and a simpler level of detail and paint application.
Itβs not complete yet, but I think that the challenge here has been making sure that I donβt over detail an individual character, and rather, make sure the overall style is consistent b...

Happy Sunday, everyone.
After wrapping up some anatomy studies, I wanted to flesh-out this sketch that I've been sitting on for a couple of days. The pose here is a little goofy, but there's a fun and whimsical energy to it that I was really drawn to.
Posing a character isnβt just about standing still. They can be mid-action, leaning, twisting, or even floating. Floating poses are especially fun because they break free from gravity- no need to worry about

Hey Patreon fam. Just wanted to share some color flats that are in the works. I'm typically not a fan of sitting poses, as they can appear stiff... but this one has a great energy/attitude that I wanted to capture. It's looking good so far, so we'll see once I start getting into shadows and render π
Also, I will be flying back home tomorrow- That means I'll have access to my actual tablet and recording gear, so I can get started on some more video content for you guys (I've been work...

Hey Patreon fam!
I'm back from my short break, and kicking off this new year with a very brief guide on how I approach drawing shapes, and wanted to share it with you all here first.
While there are many more design principles Iβd like to explore in the future, this guide focuses on the key principles I rely on most to shape my style, distilled into a quick and easy-to-digest format.
Have any questions? Let me know down in the comments!- I reply to e...

What's up y'alls. Here's some more of my favorite sketches/pieces from the past few days. I've been better at getting in the habit of practicing my painting techniques just for fun; without having the explicit intention for sharing or using for content.
That being said, I think the two weird floating head people are pretty fun. It's been a while since I've exercised my knowledge on painting/defining the forms of the face, and how skin tone and lighting plays into that for added believa...

This month, let's take a look at my personal perspective and mindsets around creating art. I think this is a topic that I feel very strongly about, but sometimes can't exactly articulate my thoughts on it completely π So bear with my unhinged rambling about stuff like perfectionism, art-block, mindfulness, and more.
Thank you to Hugo for reaching out to me with the great question! Let me know if u guys have any more questions ...

Sketch dump time!! Heres a lil page of doodles and warmups from the past few days.
For warmups, i like sticking to my comfort zone- that being random car sketches and low-pressure thumbnails. I also have some anatomy and painting studies, serving as refreshers for myself on various techniques and fundamentals.

Also shout out whatever this guy is π₯π₯π₯π₯

What's up everyone!! I wanted to do something a bit different today, and show you a more behind-the-scenes of my art and where I create it.
I recently moved, so my setup atm isn't anything crazy... but it gets the job done. One day I hope to upgrade, and maybe even have my own sort of office/art-room; but for now I'm super thankful to have the space that I have!
TECH/GEAR:
Hey everyone,
Here's some flats that I'm currently working on- I think I'll start blocking in shadows tomorrow. I'm pretty happy with how the sketch developed, since it started out as a really rough concept but became more refined with each sketch-layer overlayed on top.
Here's a lil gif so you can see how many tries it took me to get it looking right π

What's up everyone, check out this new TUTORIAL video π
While talking a bit about my process, this one goes deeper into how and why I pick the colors I do, and why they work. In the future, I'd like to make a vid covering purely color theory, but this one aims to give context with how it ties into my specific workflow. This way, the intention is to give you guys more actionable steps that you can copy and apply in your own paintings.

Hey everyone! Just taking a break from editing this month's video to show you a little landscape painting I've been working on, and what i've learned from it.
It's been a while since I've tried to build a full scene like this, since they can be pretty pretty tough to get looking "right" when taking into account the level of details and complexities that a landscape often has. Despite that, I'm actually really happy I took a couple minutes to loosely plan out my composition and l...

Hey y'alls

Just wanted to keep you guys updated. Sorry about that and thanks for your patience π

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some color flats I just finished for a painting I'm working on.
I made the sketch on my iPad, then transferred it over over to Photoshop. The scene originally had mountains in the background, but I found that it compositionally took away from the car as the focal point... and also the square frame felt a little awkward to me π
I don't like deleting so much from my original concepts, but I think it was the best decision for the piece! What do y...

Here are some flats I'm currently working on! Trying to take a more narrative/story-telling approach with this piece.
The hand in the bottom panel actually took a bunch of tries to get looking right π
it's a tough angle but I think it looks good for now
Regardless, I'm super excited to get into shadows and lighting! Glad I took the time to tidy-up these flats.
Drop a like if you're a fellow doomscroller π«

Hey y'alls, Iβm planning a 4-5 week course designed to help you better understand my style and/or advancing your own artistic goals and style. Right now, I'm just gauging interest to see if this is something you'd be excited about!
There would be two options:
Robots are fun to draw!
Figured I'd paint another one of the sketches from my tutorial.
I was imagining this one as a sort of...repair/helper bot?- Featuring two arms for precision repairs, storage area for tools up top, and gyro-assisted propulsion mobility systems to get to those hard-to-reach repairs.

Hey everyone π€
Today I have a much shorter and succinct tutorial, coming in at just under 7 minutes.

Hope you're all doing well!
I just quickly wanted to share this page of sketches, studies, and doodles βοΈ Throughout the week, I'll get quick ideas and want to sketch them out, even if super rough. I'll also use these pages for little warmups and even studies, making sure to keep the pressure low and encourage myself to explore and be creative.
Try it out for yourself! Thanks for looking π

This was a fun one, guys π
I actually ended up adding the lil guy towards the end, because I felt the scene was a little too empty/ lacking a defined focal point. He was originally standing up, but thought that him laying next to the car told more of a story!
Anyways, all of my "rendering" was done using multiply layers clipped to the flat shapes beneath... as u can see in the gif. This workflow is intuitive for me, as its now allowing me to build...
