Alright, I mentioned it before and here we are. I have to officially announce that starting on the first of August, I will be on hiatus. That is because -as some of you might know already- my family and I are moving. Thing is, it isn't going very well. (More details below.)
It will last two months. (And possibly more if the judge doesn't get back to us before September but, here is hoping they will...)

Woo~I'm finally done with this commission !
Three months of back-and-forth and multiples delays later, it is complete. I liked working on it, the client was very nice and I liked this character but... Three months, wow.
I'll admit I contemplated the idea of giving up and refunding them multiple times. But again, the client was nice and probably had their reasons, plus they were last on my queue so, I can understand.

I tried to make this as colorful as I could, all while making sure the values still made sense and now that it is done... I'm not sure what to think. I'm glad I went through with the "vibe" I got, it was fun to experiment with a more daring palette but I think it still lacks a little "oomph", some "je-ne-sais-quoi".
Guess I'll have to figure that out with my next piece !

I wanted to push the lights and rendering a little further than usual and thought some UV paint could work here... It was challenging but I found a way to make it work, that the client liked and that I am quite proud of too. (I tried to go for a mix of soft and hard edged shading, while trying to keep a better 'control' over my colors and I think it worked pretty well !)
Alright, so I know I don't often share WIP's but I feel like it would make sense here (since I previously mentioned I'd have a slower art output for the upcoming times... gotta post some content somehow~)
This is the penultimate commission I got and it is going to be a fairly challenging one so... wish me luck !

It seems that every time I try to meddle with a soft rendering technique, I feel the need to come back to strong, hard edged cel-shading immediately after. It is what comes to me most naturally after all but I still tried to go a little "further" with the colors this time. Tried to make it "pop" a little more; with more saturation, more hue variations, and thicker lines too. (Plus, I thought it gave a pretty fitting "funky" vibe to our redhead gal here.)

Welp, I tried something a little different with the rendering this time.
I tried to keep a hard-edged cel-shading for everything but the skin, which I tried to make look "smoother" than usual (using almost only soft-edged brushes for the specular highlights). I think it worked pretty well, but your opinion on this would be more than welcome !
