creepacorn sketch

one of the many monsters in Dyson.  a bit like goblin, Creepacorns are short vicious little monsters the roam dark places in large herds.  

creepacorns are made when a herd steals away children and infects the victim with a MOD virus that turns them into more Creepacorns.  They almost exclusively go after Ironborn settlements for new blood as ironborn have stunted "Dyson's Gift" and thus next to no firewalls in their bodies to defend against the infection.

this is what i was working on last night but fell asleep before i finished the sketch.  i need to update Mar and his armor in 3d

was just doing this for fun then i had another idea that won't let me go 

so i will leave this and go do the other idea

so i tried drawing without 3d again and just let the style choose it's self to see what would come up.  a friend of mine said it looked like something Hergé would draw.  and that is high praise to me

found an old anthro pony model in my files so i decided to fix her up and start posting her.  as i go along i will add custom bone shapes to make her easier to use

redid the line work.  posed and renders the figures and weapons separately and i will play around with costumes more

the bottom one is just a trace to see what the proportions look like and the other 3 are studies of the pose and proportions 

Mar studies

i took the arms and legs off my old Mar model and did some torso poses, drawing in the legs and arms as i needed.  i will have to rebuild my Mar model to update his geometry

so i went back to my 3d figures.  to get the classical fantasy proportions rather then the cartoon like proportions i was getting 

i rendered each figure separately so it would be easier for me to fix the poses when i pull the images over to photoshop 

once i got the basic form down i hid the 3d image and painted under the line work. to see if i could get a more vibrant color scheme

so i let myself get a bit too stressed out about balancing studying with folio work and ended up working a lot slower today.  a few of my practice attempts i did not bother saving because the looked terrible.

well i worked on this for a few hours trying to get the structure right and looking at it now...very cartoony proportions *sigh* i need to dedicate several hours in the morning to just studying real anatomy ...but since i am taking a bit more time on folios i can do that now :)
