Hey guys!
In today's tutorial, we are creating some squishy and fluffy vellum sim :) As requested in our Discord, the squishy part is inspired by the amazing Marc Menció, but I thought making them fluffy would further enhance the perception of softness and make them even more tactile.
Enjoy!

Heya guys!
I wanted to step back from simulations for this one and show you a procedural ping pong played by these two cute robots haha :) I saw this kind of animations done multiple times, but I really enjoyed the one from Cody Deer and it inspired me to tackle something similar in Houdini. This tut focuses mainly on modeling, but the key is transferring various attributes to the transformation of the robots, so their motion is controlled by the masks & solver.

Heyya guys!
This was definitely one of the most challenging setups I've created, mainly because I don't really use FLIP that much. Anyhow here we have this beautiful expanding foam effect. I tried to achieve this with vellum fluids, but apparently bringing substeps to 25 just to make it stable seemed like an overkill so FLIP it is :) The idea is a combined inspiration from two amazing artists – Jan Elsner (foam sim) and Jakub Spacek (Goo series), definitely check these guys out!

Spent this whole week working till late just to understand that the foam expansion effect is done in FLIP, no Vellum Fluids :D
I need a day off tomorrow, so expect tutorial early next week!

Hey guys! A while ago I did a tutorial about RBD reassembly, but it involved a lot of quaternion interpolation and vex, so today I wanna show you a beginner-friendly with some rigid vellum and shape match constraint! Also, we will do an attribute fade to make it more natural, and check out some nice SSS shaders!

Before you smash that Redshift option – technically, the process of texturing will be the same. I just wanna see if I can drop RS license and do everything in Houdini hehe
So the question is – Do you guys want to see me explore Karma or should I stick to Redshift?

Today we are exploring some stitch constraints, that we can shorten/strengthen over time to make a vacuum sealing effect, and not just with sphere shrinkwrap, but a proper rectangle bag with anything you can imagine put inside and then sealed.
I also modeled a simple vacuum sealear and I will walk you through the basic modelling in Houdini.
Enjoy!

Heyya guys!
Initial idea was to create a laser scan effect, but I thought I can also spice it up with some animated alembic moss that we will retime and make a growth animation on our rock after the laser.
So, enjoy!

Heyya guys!
In this tutorial we will create a beginner friendly, 3 step continuous RBD fracture. This is quite a beginner friendly setup if you think of it from technical standpoint, but Houdini is not about tons of VEX, right? :D Anyhow, we will also set up materials, lights and camera animation to make it look super cool!
Enjoy!

Heyya guys!
So this tut is an interesting combo. Its beginner friendly, but it features some time-bending in solvers to get a nice fade-in and fade-out effects based on the future or past state of the particular object. I think, its crucial to prepare the viewer for the action, so in this case we are using color to indicate where the action will happen. In case you think that solver and vex stuff isn't your cup of tea, there is still a nice little bubble pop setup with dynamic vellum constraints.
Enjoy!

Heyya guys! In this tutorial we will create this cool smoke suction sim, pretty beginner-friendly approach but wanted to show you how you can modify the suction volume. Also, as per your request, we do modelling of the purifier from scratch, and also in the end we will talk about the materials and lights (spoiler: there are some tricks with the light setup here)
Enjoy!

Heeeeeeyyyyyyyaaa! Guess who's back!
First of all, im glad to be back on track and have so many ideas to share with you in the upcoming months so definitely stay tuned! Secondly, today, we are exploring this nice and beginner friendly setup inspired by the amazing Sergey Shurupov aka rettlesnake where we drive the restlength with smooth noise to expand the vellum cloth strips, but then, we activate the pin constraints to get it back to its rest position.
Enjoy!

Heyya guys! In this tutorial will create a beginner friendly RBD setup which can change the RBD geo based on attributes dynamically! Also, I like how the render turned out, so we will discuss a few rending tips for glass surfaces.
Enjoy!
P.S. I will be on vacation from 8th till 22th of April, so chances are we will do just 2 tuts in this month, or I will manage to do one in these few last days haha. Anyhow, if there will be less than 3, I will compensate and do 4 in the future months. Cheers!

Hey guys, as I promised, there is a dedicated tut for some very beginner friendly modeling tips and tricks in Houdini. I've also added a few things I didn't mention earlier, like using subnets for repetitive node chains, hope it will come in handy for your projects. And also couldn't resist adding some simple pyro sim haha
Enjoy!
