Today we are continuing our explorations into the world of abstract hair simulations in Houdini :) In this tutorial we will talk about hair deform and hair advect, use vellum to inflate a few spheres and generate advected hair on this expanding mesh.

Some RBD Rock Waves coming next week :)

On my latest stream Jonathan asked how we can recreate this effect done by Sketchy Visuals (originally done in C4D and X-Particles) in Houdini :) Had tough time getting this done with vellum fluid on stream, but eventually found a way to use flip fluid and don't go too deep into the fluid physics haha.

A mix between 2 previous iterations ;) Coming on Thursday :)

Its a low-q preview, but still wanted to share with you guys! Its not a strip render, but as amaru suggested, i've added a lot of very very thin strands and applied some pretty extreme procedural bump map so we lost the too-regular cgi-ish perfection in the strands. 

What do you think?
