So I have a timelapse file from the chibi head I drew for the new Dragon Age 2 playthrough, and I wanted to post it, but I was wondering, for those who are interested in watching these speed draws, would you prefer them to have music/commentary on them? Or would you prefer them to just have the video?

I'm completely fine with either, and perhaps there can be nuance here and have ones that are only 1:30 or less be simply the video and have longer ones have music, but for right now I'm just kind of putting feeler out about what you all might enjoy!

For Those Who Subscribe(d) Through the Apple IOS Patreon App

So I've noticed that there's been quite a bit more subscriptions through the Apple IOS app than in the past, and unfortunately, Apple has a policy that requires a hold on any funds that were acquired that way. They hold these funds for seventy five days. So for instance, if you subscribed this month, I will not be able to even touch that money for two months. For a creator who relies on access to these funds to you know....live, this is a huge pain for me.

There is a solution to this problem, which is to un-subscribe through the app, and then re-subscribe through the desktop website. You will still be able to access everything on the app once you've done so and signed back in, but it's the Apple Store policy that's really starting to screw over Patreon creators, and at this point, there's literally nothing I personally can do about it but wait, or ask that those of you who have subscribed via the Apple App to un-subscribe and then re-subscribe on the desktop site.

I know this is kind of a pain for those who are subscribed that way, and I'm not demanding that everyone who is to go do this, just trying to pull back the curtain a little bit and let you all know that Apple is doing it's Apple thing and once again making it hard for creators for no good goddamn reason.

So you sit, blank canvas before you......and worry yourself into inaction......and then the guilt eats away at you more and more......and the vicious cycle continues......

And how do you explain that to others? That every atom in your body screams with the need to create.....but there's this invisible force that prevents you from doing what you love.....from doing the thing you know with every fiber of your being that you were meant to do?

What do you do?

When fear and anguish rage and roil in your stomach at the idea of letting people down.....of letting yourself down.....

Of being unable to move forward, of feeling like you'll never be able to make anything again.....

When you have enough negative experiences when it comes to trying with all your might to just create something, that you develop a genuine fear of trying.....

Because even though the inaction eats away at you little by little.....it's better than the idea of failing over and over, and having the realization that you've broken yourself beyond repair......because that.....would just end you completely.

So what do you do?

Well....the answer, strangely enough.....is that you make something......even if it's a single word, a single brush stroke, a single stitch......you make something.....

Even if you think that it's not going to be something that the people like......even if you think it's not going to be something that you like.....you make something......and you finish it.....

Because despite the fact that all of us creatives are unfortunately perfectionists......you can't just sit in limbo forever......you can't just stew in guilt and fear worrying about whether or not what you make is 'worth it'....even if that thing never sees the light of day beyond your own eyes.

So what do you do?

You stop caring about whether something is good......and just.....make......

Something that speaks to you......however that may be.....something that sparks you.....however small that spark may be......

It's not easy--by God is it not easy--to ignore the voices that tell you it isn't worth it.....that you and what you create don't matter.......and yes, there will still be fear.....there will still be anguish.......but there is also....hope.....

Little by little.....one step at a time......you will find joy in creation again.......

Even darkness must pass......

Every time you create.......be it that one word, that one note, that once stitch, it's one more thing that wasn't in the world before.....and you did that.

You did that.......

And whether you share it, or keep it to yourself......no one can create exactly the same way that you do......and everything that you make with your own two hands, however that might be.....has a piece of you in it......and there is worth in that......

So what do you do?

You write a script.......you pour your heart out.....you cry in a recording booth.....all in the hopes that what comes out of it will not only help yourself.....but those who might be in the exact same boat as you......

Hoo boy the universe really tried to take me out for a moment there! (/lh)

Of course as soon as I was getting all my things organized and unpacked from my move, I immediately got very sick for the first time in about a year and a half. It was bad enough that at the beginning that I was only able to sleep about 3-4 hours and they were not consecutive and it was not good sleep. It unfortunately got bad enough that I actually had to go to the emergency room because I was having horrible panic attacks about not being able to sleep, and so my (absolutely wonderful and selfless) roommate took me to the ER at 3:00 in the morning so we could get some medication to help my cough and congestion and sleep problems (I did the math and I only slept maybe 16 hours in 4 whole days, and again, it was not good sleep 😅). Sleep deprivation is a hell of a thing!

It took until quite literally yesterday for me to finally feel and sound like myself again, as the illness made me so gross and congested there was no way you wouldn't be able to hear it in an audio (pretty sure the illness turned into a sinus infection at the end). I'm quite glad to be back to normal because I was feeling honestly really guilty about blipping out of existence again to recover, but I again cannot thank you all so much for your support and patience! Also, I was not gonna let this illness take Pride Month away from me, goddamnit, because it's one of my favorite times of year!😤

So I'm back now! (crossing every finger and toe and shaking my fist at the universe)

I have been itching to get back to making audios and other things, and now that I'm finally feeling back to myself, I want to get back on the bandwagon and start creating!

Hi everyone! I finally have internet and about 90% of my office set up after the move! This area seems a lot quieter than at my previous place, so I'm very hopeful that my experience trying to record is going to be an easier one! Within the next few days I'm going to be doing some test recordings in my new booth to make sure everything sounds on the up and up, and then hopefully I'll be jumping back into creating! I only say hopefully because for the past two days I've had some damaged throat issues that could be from bad acid reflux, getting sick, or possibly both!🙃👍

~April 2025 Update~

Hello hello everyone! I just wanted to pop in and give you all an update about how I'm doing and everything that's been going on!

I know I've been quieter this past month than I have been in a while, and there are a couple of reasons for that.

First and foremost, I'm moving! I got everything finalized and I'm going to be spending this month moving my stuff from my current place to my new place! The entire process has been a whirlwind and a half, and I know it's going to keep being that because moving is just a pain!

Secondly, the noise situation at my current apartment has gotten completely and utterly ridiculous, even more so than in the past. The constant noise from traffic, horrible neighbors, animals, screaming children etc, etc, has made it so that it is almost impossible to record anything without loud noises interrupting after 5:30 in the morning. Genuinely it is such constant noise and traffic that it's one of the main reasons that I decided to move! Everything takes about three times longer than it should, and that on top of looking for a place to move, packing, working a part time job, burnout and executive dysfunction it's made it incredibly hard to record/create audios.

But I'm very hopeful for the future! This new place I'm moving to has less neighbors and is in a quieter area of town, so I'm hoping that I won't have to wake up at 3am just to get recording done in some semblance of silence!

I really quite desperately want to get back to making audios/working on commissions in a more timely manner, and I worked really hard to try to find a place to live that will be conducive to that, as well as help my mental health overall.

That being said, I believe this month might also be difficult for me to record beyond just the noise, as the issues of when to move my recording equipment come into the picture. I do not have a car, so all of my moving of things has to be coordinated between friends helping me and me renting a moving truck. I'm currently stuck on whether I should hold out and move my recording equipment last so that I have immediate access to it longer, or if I should move it sooner rather than later and set up my new—quieter—recording space. My hesitance to immediately move my equipment mostly comes from the fact that I'll then have to take public transit to get to my new place any time I want to try to go record something, which in the grand scheme of things isn't too much of a chore, if I wasn't already going to be busy out of my mind packing up everything and taking care of other life obligations.

I don't quite know what the answer will be, and I hate to say that this month I'll also be quiet, because so many of you new and old have been so amazing and supportive throughout my entire journey of struggles and burnout that I don't want to disappoint people or have it seem like I've been just taking your money and running (things my anxiety brain like to constantly tell me). I want to get back to a place where I can create with comfort and relative ease, because I desperately miss it and crave it.

I know this is long as most of my updates are because I like to prattle on, but if it does turn out that circumstances lead to me not being able to get out a lot of audios this month, I apologize in advance and thank you all—as always—for your patience and your support. I appreciate it more than you could ever all know, and I hope that this move will bring on a new chapter where I can find more joy in creation without it being influenced by forces I can't control.
