It's been a long time coming, but on behalf of Kal and myself at Switchverse games, we're proud to present the proof of concept demo for our second game, This Clandestine World! Set in the same universe as TRW in a city beyond Castlewood, this story follows Roman Graves and his exploits as a sex-addicted private detective.
Here are a few bullet points for your consideration:
-This is a very short alpha intended to be expanded on with new assets in the months to come. Each build will get bigger but you could probably finish this first one in ten minutes or so if you explore everything and don't get stuck.
-If the voice acting feels random as to when its implemented and when its not, it's because we're still working out how much we can consistently budget per build. We have also yet to cast anyone for Roman, so he's quiet for now.
-This is also our first time working in Unity! Kal has made huge progress as a programmer in a short time, teaching himself the software through Youtube tutorials and forums. But this is still new territory and any critical feedback about the gameplay and interface is welcome.
-On that note, story/character critical feedback is welcome too, of course. What do you think of the new characters? Especially our new leading man? We're very open to input. Anything about the game that you liked or didn't like is welcome if you'll share it with us.
-Since the launcher is new and has yet to be downloaded a lot, be aware that many antivirus programs may indeed assume it is the devil. For what it's worth you have my word that we are not attempting to insert our trojans or whatever the hell it is that viruses do now.
-We currently have no way to test the Mac and Linux builds ourselves. Please let us know if you have trouble starting them!
-Lastly, bugs! If you have any to report, please do. We have a whole channel just for that on the Discord server but if you don't have Discord access, the comments here will work fine.

When the TRW Visual novel launched last year, I promised that everyone who pledged to the $15 Game Dev tier between that time and the release of the first build of our next game would have their name in the credits, even if they only pledged for one month and dropped. Unfortunately, in that time, Patreon has changed their record keeping in an infuriating way.
To the best of my ability, I can seemingly no longer determine ALL $15 supporters during the last year. As many I know of are omitted from the list for no reason that I can tell. Nothing makes my skin crawl like failing to deliver on a promised reward. So for this first build I can only ask right here: were you pledged on the $15 tier anytime between now and last February? If you were and you don't see your name on this list, let me know in the comments and we'll get you in there for the first build of the new game. Thankfully pulling up a list of current supporters is still doable and seems accurate, so I should only need to ask this one time so long as I remember to check the list every month.

Content-wise I don't want to run my mouth on this one. I'd be more curious just to hear what people think without my input. I will say that the top panel is a very rare shot for me. I'm a face/boobs guy. XD
Betty just barely beats Wilma in this month's Discord Poll! I got the idea for the Flintstones theme after watching a mini doc about the 90 live-action movie on Youtube from a channel called Hats Off Entertainment. Highlights include that the reason there was never a chronological sequel is because John Goodman had zero interest in returning, and that when Rick Moranis learned of Rosie O' Donnell's casting as Betty, he quipped that "she should have played Fred." Amazing what you could get away with before social media.
I remembered Betty and Wilma having more or less identical personalities (more on that in a minute) but I had it pointed out to me that Betty was more giggly and Wilma was more stern, which sounds right. Anyhow since Betty is a married character I've drawn her cheating because that is my way. It raises a question though: how does one get away with a steamy affair when every appliance in the house is a sentient animal capable of speech? If you blow the plumber, do you have to bribe the garbage disposal to keep what it saw a secret?
I'm old enough to remember a time when The Flintstones was a regular fixture on Cartoon Network. It originally aired in the 60's and you do not need a documentary to tell you that. Just watch it for five minutes and the archetypes of the era are clear as day. The men are cocky bumbling oafs who only care about red meat and bowling, and the women are generally materialistic nags who only care about jewelry and pampering. It's still pretty fun for what it is, though. It's easy to forget that The Flintstones was not originally marketed as a kid's show, and that it was the first cartoon to air in a prime-time slot. It had more in common with something like The Simpsons than Scooby-Doo. Long before Flintstone Kids vitamins, Fred was hawking cigarettes in animated commercials for crying out loud.

There's a visual element of hentai anime that's always rubbed me the wrong way: physics defying hair. By that I mean that no matter what position these anime babes find themselves in, their bangs remain glued to their face, framing it in an appealing way at the cost of realism. There are exceptions of course. But you'll find that nine times out of ten, that hair isn't moving.
Not so in TRW! I always wanted to try out this pose and I'm glad I finally did. In any case I hope you guys like the page. We'll get back to Elianna at the club here pretty quick but I wanted to check back in with these two first.

I put some thinking into the idea of Kitty Burger and how it might be perceived in the world of the comic, specifically outside of town. Sticking to the notion that Castlewood is a town full of perverts, I imagine Kitty Burger would end up quite the tourist trap/content creator destination. I'm picturing a lot of Youtube thumbnails with someone making that cartoonishly shocked face they all love to make with a title like "How Does THIS Place Exist!?!?!?!" For better or worse I imagine it would be good for business. XD

What's this? TRW already? Well the fact is my sleep schedule is super out of wack at the moment. Not sure exactly when I'll drop and for how long so I may as well play it safe and post while I can.
Not sure what else I have to add about the page itself. I feel like my storytelling intent is conveyed pretty clearly on this one. No amount of horny can bury Elianna's true nature!
Whew! Sorry to run so late on this one, gang. Had one of those instances where you think you're laying down for a quick nap and then you wake up 12 hours later and have no idea what goddamn day it is.
Well this weekend the alpha for the first build of This Clandestine World was released on the game testing tier. We're getting some solid feedback already and plan to spend some time polishing it up some more before the full release at the end of this month!
In the meantime, I wanted to showcase one of the new characters from the game. Friday Calero is the main character's not-quite girlfriend. She's in her early twenties, working a waitress job she hates, and living in a small apartment with a roommate she doesn't get along with. She's got her struggles but nothing cheers her up like swinging by Roman's place for sex and free food, in that order.

I believe it's been established well enough so far that once a character's fetish has been unlocked, there's no putting that particular genie back in the bottle. So I guess the main takeaway here is that Morgan turning into a were-sub (were-bottom?) was not an isolated incident. I know I always say I want feedback but I'm especially curious as to how this is going to go over. Let me know what you think in the comments if you would!

I stopped doing the scene titles awhile back in the main comic, opting instead to just change scenes more organically to hopefully cultivate suspense between pages. But the titles live on here now in the strips, as I need a visual cue for when one story has ended and another has begun.
So it's time for Courtney to get some character focus! She was the most suggested in the comments and PM's and it's going to be awhile before she has anything substantial to do in the main comic so she feels like the perfect choice to keep exploring this new format with.

And we're back with more TRW! :D
Having written scripts for both comics and a visual novel, I can say what defines comic dialog is that it has to be tight as hell by comparison. Between the desire to keep the pacing snappy and the physical confines of limited space on the page, there truly isn't room for a single wasted word.
This wasn't anything I didn't already know, but MAN has that concept just been drilled into my forehead while attempting to juggle so many characters in one scene. Hopefully it will come together well in the end here. In the meantime please let me know what you think of the page and how things are coming along!

Happy New Year! He says as he realizes it's already well passed New Years Day depending on one's time zone. Fun fact: last year at the end of 2022, I wasn't certain "artist" would even still be a paying job that existed by the end of 2023. (And for a disturbing many, it fucking wasn't.) But thanks to all of you reading this, I'm still able to keep the lights on doing work I truly enjoy. I could not be more grateful for that. Thank you.
Meanwhile Switch and Sister Theodora won the Discord poll for the month! Wasn't going for canon with this one, just looking for fun character pairings. Is it me or does a sinful nun being paired up with an altruistic demon sound like the premise of something you'd see on Adult Swim about ten years ago? Like, they have an apartment together or something and hijinks ensue.
And lastly, vacation complete! More of a staycation, as is my way. Rewatched some Elementary (Jonny Lee Miller is tied with Jeremy Brett for best performance of Sherlock Holmes and I will fight anyone who disagrees.) Picked away at a few games on my backlog and made a boatload of phone calls to check in with friends and family over the holidays. Good stuff.
But this old stone golem is back to work now, with a new TRW page on the way this Thursday! :)
Yep, it's time for my winter week off! Not sure what I'm even going to do with myself, honestly. But I'm assured by those close to me that vacations are healthy. Will probably play some Switch games on my backlog like Revita and Prison City. Anyhow no Monday pin up or comic page next week, but I'll be back at it the week after! Whew! Only...let's see...only about three hours later than my usual deadline here? Oof. You know the funny thing? With the holidays looming, I didn't take any commissions last week. Which meant I had the luxury of starting this page earlier than usual. In hindsight, thank Christ I did because this one got reworked and outright started over from scratch a LOT.
But I'm pleased with the finished product, and I hope you are too!

This commission for Kaiser Karlo is canonical and marks the first appearance of Kristina's dad, Frank Price! I personally thought this was a great idea, and I hope you like how this turned out. Here's how the story goes:

What follows is my recollection of the time that I, Elizabeth Leopold Bitoni, set out on my quest to find the epic hog.
I've seen some big penises in my time. Huge, throbbing slabs of man-meat that boggle the mind and stretch the baby maker. But I wondered, had I seen it all by now? Had I already been stuffed by the biggest puds that human biology had to offer? I had to find out. And so, my search began for a dong larger than any dong I had ever known before.
The day began with legwork. I asked around, put up flyers, chased leads, got called into the vice principal's office, had to take all the flyers down, and finally just settled into sorting through all the dick pics I'd been sent in the meantime. So...so many wieners. Going through them all was an emotional journey. Some made me laugh, others made me sad, and I saved some of them for personal use at a later time. But I never saw a truly jaw-dropping man-tackle in any of the pics. It was a bummer.
That's when Holly sent it to me: Kristina's dad. Holy smokes, yo. This thing was so big, it should be paying rent. The hog owner's name was Frank, and he was single! Immediately I found Kristina, got down on one knee, and asked for her permission to seduce her father. She called me a total fucking weirdo but she didn't say no.
Holly set up the meeting with Frank and I turned on the oooold Bitoni charm. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I had this gorgeous, stunning marvel of male anatomy all up in my guts. It was magical.
And so, my quest for the epic hog was complete. Could there be a bigger one than Frank's out there in the world? Maybe there is, but it's not getting anywhere near this booty. I've got my limits. Peace out!

Casey and Mr. Fontaine are back in the same sleazy motel room they shared in the pages of Switch back in 2015. (Yes I did have to look it up. Thanks, Hentai Foundry.) Though you'll notice their dynamic is pretty different this time around. Like most of the Switch cast, Mr. Fontaine got a soft reboot in TRW to match the lighter tone of the new comic. In fact now that I think about it, Abbey and the Twins are the only Switch characters I can think of that I didn't change at all for TRW, but they were hardly main cast in Switch. Anybody remember Warren's one and only appearance back then?
Speaking of tones, one continuity flub I wonder if you noticed before I said anything is that the color palette here is different than the one introduced on the previous page. This is the first chapter where I've really dug into the idea of changing scenes within a single page to hopefully cultivate suspense to see what happens next. A downside of that is that I only had three zoomed-in panels to plan the color scheme of this page and man, what I had was just WAY too purple to work without all that blue from the strip club to even it out. The problem can likely be avoided with a bit more planning in the future.

Once again I'm concerned that Elianna, who is meant to be highly intelligent with a flawless academic record, is in danger of coming off as dumb/gullible. To me, it's an intelligence vs. wisdom sort of scenario. Like someone who is very book smart but also naive in a lot of ways. In any case I'm still enjoying the strip format to tell side stories, and this one is nearly complete! Let me know what you think if you would, and if there are any characters in particular you'd like to see stories about.

This chapter continues to bounce around and attempt to juggle more characters than any before it. Can I successfully tie all this together in a cohesive way when the time comes?....No, seriously. I'm asking. In any case I'm glad to have Elianna and Jane's past finally touched on in the main comic. The idea of foreshadowing that Jane would already know about Elianna's little turn-ons such as slow unbuttoning was the aim here.
Hope you guys like the page. This new lighting style has proven to be a bit of a bear to maintain, consistency-wise, between pages. I actually had to just eyeball a lot of the lighting to match the last page here. I'm doing my best to iron out the kinks as I go. Let me know what you think!

Movie Rio beats Game Rio in this month's Discord Poll! Having both played Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 and finally watched Across the Spiderverse recently, I feel I was well overdue for a Rio pic. I'm going to talk about the movie a bit here. I'll keep it relatively spoiler-free but I am going to reference a scene or two if you'd prefer to go in blind.
Put simply, Across the Spiderverse is my new favorite movie. I complain a lot about modern movies being too long, but I'd complain less if they were all paced so well. Every frame of this thing is a crazy work of art, and is a stark reminder of why so many animated movies since the first film have been trying to ape this style. Soundtrack-wise this one lacks a stand-out banger quite like "Sunflower" was for the original. But one of my favorite scenes, a web-swing between Miles and Gwen, has a song called "Mona Lisa" by Dominic Fike that has been stuck in my head all weekend.
I may be imagining this but I think Rio here had a stronger presence in the sequel as well. My other favorite scene is one where she totally cockblocks Miles as a not-so-passive-aggressive mom when he's having a moment with Gwen. It's fun stuff. The whole movie nails the little character bits well.
So did you see it? What did you think? Was it better than the original? Are you, like me, bummed that the entire spider-load has been blown in 2023? Because it takes ten years to make a new video game now and the next Spiderverse movie was delayed indefinitely? Let me know in the comments!

This is one of the rare instances where I can't take credit for all the art on a given page. That rad shot of the club was painted by Siren Sleeps for the visual novel. Though it was certainly left to me to fill it with patrons. I had to think carefully about who would be there and then whittle it down to who could be there. If somebody's missing, it's likely because they're busy elsewhere at the moment with something we'll have to check in on them later to see.
Anyhow I hope the spread looks half as good as I think it does because a lot of work went into it. Still grappling with how the same colored light layer can somehow make Morgan's hair lighter and Liz's hair darker. If you're wondering what the hell Liz is wearing, I figured that since she's established as the sentimental type who treasures the memory of her experiences, she's exactly the type of sucker who empties her wallet at the gift shop of every club, concert, or theme park she finds herself in. Also I was tired of drawing that flannel shirt.
Hey gang I went back and forth on it a bit but I've decided to take Thursday off for Thanksgiving. TRW will post on Friday this week instead.

I thought this whole concept was a fun one. I really like Velki's look, and if you can finish Baldur's Gate 3 and not have a soft spot for big mama Karlach by the end then you do not have a soul, good sir. As for Chloe, this job had me wondering how she would survive the never-ending nightmare of horror and death that is Dungeons and Dragons if she existed in that world. If she had her choice, she'd just fuck her way into nobility and live the sweet life away from all the adventuring. But if she HAD to join the party, maybe as a rogue? She is known for creeping after all.

I'm thankful for a chance to showcase Elianna in action on her daily lewdness patrol again. It's a big part of her character and I've only actually shown her doing it in the VN and once waaaay back in chapter two of the comic, I think?
Meanwhile I'm excited to keep experimenting with storytelling in the strip format. Though "strip" isn't the most accurate description here anymore. To me the only difference between this and a proper TRW comic page is the rule that it be made by reworking/adding to existing assets rather than drawing from scratch. No way I'm renaming this series after 109 pages though so "strips" they shall remain. XD

I hope I haven't disappointed those who wanted to just see her in the club already this week, but I felt the story required a beat where Elianna psyched herself up in the parking lot with her posse to really hammer down how big a deal this is for her.
Fun fact: Jane was a late stage addition to this little moment here. Originally the page was more focused on why Kayden won't be joining them inside. Thankfully I only needed a couple of panels for that because it eventually occurred to me that the Jane I have presented would absolutely hijack this whole outing the instant it was brought to her attention. From her need to host the hottest events to her history with Elianna, (also, anybody get Jane's ending in the visual novel?) it only made sense that she'd be eagerly awaiting them outside the club.
On to the technical side of things. As you may have noticed in my recent work, I've been attempting to get more adventurous with my light and shadow. Holy crap was I unprepared for contrasting neon lights in a dark parking lot. I conservatively estimate that about 40% of the work on this page was me messing with color sliders, filters, and masks trying to make something presentable here. It was Elianna's pale skin and white shirt that got me, mostly. Light that looked warm and sexy on the others lit her up like she was standing in front of a lighthouse bulb. I'm thankful that the next page will be inside the club so I'm not married to such a difficult lighting scheme for pages to come.
