I've added farming to the game. You can now plant different seeds that will grow (sped up for video) and produce food. Different foods now also give temporary buffs. E.g tomato increases max health, lean meat increases heath, mana and stamina regen rate etc.

Been working on adding full PBR texture maps to the materials in the game. Each material now has color, specular, metallic, roughness and normal. Still very WIP & some reflections are funky but its promising.

I've added weather to the game. Each weather type can either be weak or strong. Also each biome can have unique weather e.g rain in Mystical Forest and dust storms in Outback Canyons.

In my opinion sound is as important as visuals. I've made a procedural ambience system that places/adjusts ambient sounds depending on the surrounding environment/weather conditions. No more generic looping background ambience round here.

Been working on improving voxel data generation speed in Lay of the Land by using Intel's ISPC. Still working on it but the results are super promising. I've managed to get a 2-3x speedup depending on hardware.
Average Bulk Voxel Data Query Time:
Intel i7 6700k: 3.4x speedup
No ISPC: 6.123ms
ISPC: 1.759ms
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D: 2.6x speedup
No ISPC: 3.085ms

Update fixing my oopsie in 0.4.6. This bug would not have corrupted your world or anything. Or set you computer on fire π. Just a really bad bug that somehow slipped through the cracks even with the increased amount of QA I have been doing recently.

Hey everyone. Just thought I'd give an update on what's happening with the next update.
I hope to get it out next week or the week after. This update has been the most challenging thing I've attempted in terms of game design. I don't think a building system like this has ever really been done so I hope you guys like it π.
In hindsight I should have probably released the game initially with building as it would have made development easier but you live and learn I guess π....

I hope you like shapes cos we got shapes. Builds dont have to be boxes. With these shapes you can easily build a circular tower, a hexagonal house or even a spherical shelter. The limit is your imagination.

Here's a look at how terrain flattening will work. Use a mattock tool in flatten mode to lower terrain to the targeted height/use a voxel item in flatten mode to raise terrain to the targeted height.

Hey everyone. The new update is here and it's a big one. New enemies, structures, weapons and more have been added to the outback canyons biome. There are also new voxel simulations, new weapon types and more. I have also made a few balance changes, fixed a few bugs and made various other improvements. It has been a pretty long road for this update and I hope you all enjoy the new content :)
