3-25-21 Progress Update

Here's a little something that isn't too spoiler-y: the state of the park after the next update.  Making these "chibi" attractions is always one of the quickest and easiest tasks each time around, so it's no surprise that they often get completed first.  We've heard your suggestions about giving them a bigger purpose in the game, and we're really excited to unveil what our plans are.

Hi everyone!  We're in the dead space right now where one update has just launched, and we're still too early working on the next one to have anything interesting to share.  We haven't had any bug reports this time around either, though, and that's good.

2-19-21 Progress Update

v0.03 Bughunt

Hello again everyone!

It's been almost a full day since v0.03 public released, and our programmer has been working nonstop to answer bug reports and offer other support.

There were three major issues that came up:

1) Old saves do not work.
This is a non-issue.  Please follow the instructions posted on our main page to transfer saves from the previous version.  In the future, saves should transfer automatically, as you would expect.

2) My antivirus software...

2-12-21 Progress Update

If you've been diligent with your park upkeep, you've probably seen the above image already.  If you've seen the above image already, you may have been confused, since it has absolutely nothing to do with the current story.  The achievement rewards are a good way to throw in new girls or scenarios that don't really have a place in the larger game.  This feature will really help PAD feel all-encompassing, by giving us a way to include even more content from all corners ...

2-6-21 Progress Update

1-28-21 Progress Update

This week, the main work has been done on two fronts: music and coding.  We don't want to spoil too much on the audio front, but there has been a lively discussion on our team Discord about finding the perfect sound.  It's why we didn't just grab some free-use music a long time ago.

1-22-21 Progress Update

Everything is going smoothly on development of v0.04.  All the new scenes and outfits have been finalized and the artwork has already started rolling in.  In terms of writing, we've actually been focusing more on the over-arching story, what the endgame could be and how we can use the different girls to get us there.  Finally, our team has grown to include a composer, and we're just as excited to see what he comes up with as you are!

Well, now that you've had the chance to play v0.03, what do you all think of it?  We realize that the sleep scenes aren't for everyone, which is why we provided awake alternatives...and dream sequences as a sort-of compromise.   And we'll continue to do so in the next version, which will also be all about Aurora!  We hope you realize now why we needed to tell her story next...what better way to stir things up for our MC and his all-powerful Pen than throwing some villains ...

12-18-20 Progress Update

Wow, that last public release really did us some good!  We've crushed our $500 goal, and we're well on our way to the $600 one.  What does that mean?  We can afford to have our artist create backgrounds in the same style as the characters and scenes, as well as going back to replace older ones.  It's not something that will happen all at once, but we think it'll make the game experience more coherent.  The $600 goal is for background music, which is one of the biggest...

12-14-20 Progress Update

We made exceptional progress last week!  There's only one more scene to write, and just a few images that need to go from lines to colors!  And, as promised, the coding and compilation will begin tomorrow, right after the public release of v0.02!

Now, here's the final hint before our official reveal of Girl #2: this image shows the easter egg that was in the game all along!  Coupled with our other hints, you should definitely know who she is now, right?  Right?

12-9-20 Progress Update

There isn't much new to report since last time (another scene was written), so let's get right on to the hint:

Last time we said that all the character bust art for the second girl was complete, and we meant that.  All of the character bust art is complete, because the second girl has two unique sets of bust art.

Any new guesses now?  The next hint will be the reveal of the easter egg that's already in the game, which should be enough in...

12-5-20 Progress Update

This update is still going to be spoiler-free, but here are some completion percentages:

• Artwork is 50% done.  Two backgrounds, one scene, and all bust art for the new character have been completed (plus all the little things like drawable attraction art).
• Writing is 75% done.
• Coding is 0% done.  This will begin after the v0.02 public build is released on 12/15, and will take a few days tops (because it's just adding the assets in - no new functionality...

12-1-20 Progress Update

Welcome to December!  We've got a lot of great things in store for you this month, so on to the announcements!

First, it's official: Belle has won the poll and will be the third girl to feature in Park After Dark.  We're always forethinking so we have a general idea for her story, but now we can start to hammer out the details and give it as much love as Cindy's got!  And for those of you who voted for Rapunzel instead, don't worry; she'll be included too before ...

11-24-20 Status Update

Belle has currently taken a commanding lead in our poll for the third girl, but you never know: a dozen new patrons could sign up today and turn the tide in Rapunzel's favor.  Remember to cast your vote by 11/30/20 if you haven't yet!
