Relapse

I have some bad news.

The abscess has relapsed. I received test results yesterday. It isn't as severe as last year, so I don't think I'll be hospitalized. However, I must be careful just in case. Next checkup is scheduled two weeks later, so I'll have to take antibiotics in the meantime.

I really, really hope I recovery quickly from this. I can't go through those dreadful experiences again.

Military Council

Late autumn of the year Eleven Rabbit (1490). As the harvest ends, the war season has come again. Ahuitzotl chose this year’s destination as present-day southern Guerrero. He summoned the two allied rulers, Nezahualpiltzintli of Tetzcoco and Totoquihuaztli Xocoyotl of Tlacopan, and representatives from other neighboring cities. They agreed that war should be declared immediately and decided to gather their armies.

This campaign was a logical extension of the earlier conqu...

Great Goddess of Fertility

This drawing is primarily based on the early Postclassic period (10~12th century) Huastec stone statue at the Metropolitan Museum. The woman is nude and her large belly and breasts are emphasized. Her distinct headdress -crowned by a conical top and tombstone-shaped element on the back- is the representative element of goddess Tlazolteotl in Huastec art. Tlazolteotl was originated from la Huasteca r...
