Sally Rands tiny shoes

Many of you have been asking me to see the collection that I purchased on American pickers from my friend Amber D Giovanni the Sally Rand historian. Amber DiGiovanni has a one woman show and fan dances a long while telling the story of Sally Rand‘s life. When I visited with Amber, she told me of how she handmade each of her sets of Sally Rand sands with her husband who sadly is no longer with us.

Amber was swept up by emotion at the thought of selling either of her sets of fans becau...

Tere Sheehan

So many burlesque performers have a specific gimmick with personalized props. Usually performers like to try to stand apart from one another. It’s actually very frustrating if somebody copies a routine of a burlesque performer because that is intellectual property and can be hard to protect unless a performer chose to copyright it.

Tere had a great gimick with her champagne Goddess routine. Who doesn’t want to see a dripping wet, Goddess in a champagne glass?

The only downside...

Coming soon

I we will be uploading all of the vintage erotica I I have compiled over the years. I have been researching Lynne O’Niel, the original garter girl and will be compiling all of her costumes and magazine articles as well as my collection of Irving Klaw original photos of her.

I’m happy to provide these educational resources for my historians and burlesque performers for free.

Feel free to browse around the beautiful content and learn the origins of tease🖤

Blessed Be

This costume has a very special place in my heart. My best friend had a heart attack a few years back and I have been obsessed with the image of the anatomical heart sense. This is a nod to her, a fellow witch, a fellow heathen. I love you Nicole!

The g-string is incredibly important for this costume because it is an antique eye of God applique that was gifted to me by my friend Miss Holly Hock, an incredible performer and producer from the Detroit burlesque world.

A Yellow Kind of Day...

What a fun day creating with Jeremy! This is just part of a vintage costume that I recently purchased. Some of the pieces of the costume are in repair right now but I love these ostrich feather happy sunshine boas. This costume has no specific history that I’m aware of but the pasties and panties probably came from a  circus show. My crown is from the early 1900s, picked from the Folies Bergère View Post

Today I prevailed

I woke up barely able to move from this new widespread pain I’ve been feeling. I contacted my yoga practitioner and canceled my appointment but chose to do restorative yoga instead today. It took me an hour of repeating movements u til I could move well enough to get packed up and in the car for my day at the studio. Jeremy took the long way so that we could see the ocean. I cried. It’s been so long since Ive seen this incredible view that I was dumbfounded by it. We got to the studio and...

A Sunset Fan Dance

Fans: Made by the amazing Donna Touch.

Music: Mummy Walk by Contrails.

Have you ever seen a 'green flash' at sunset?

A green flash is a phenomenon in which part of the sun appears to  suddenly change color for about 1 or 2 seconds. The brief flash of green  light is seen more often at sunset than at sunrise.

This fleeting  spectacle is caused by the refraction of sunlight, which is  par...

Vintage hamsa aplique g string

I’m so thankful to Nora Beth, my costume or Boo pulled together this great little G string in no time at all. When I was in Detroit headlining the dirty show I also did a show at Cliff’s bells, one of my favorite places to perform with Miss Hollyhock. She is a burlesque staple in Detroit and one hell of a showgirl! Miss Hollyhock also really enjoys vintage and antique rarities much like I do.

I was really honored and excited to perform with her because I was featuring my 1920s anti...

What is a Baitball?

What is a Baitball?

Schools of small fish often cruise near the ocean's surface, feeding  on plankton and other organic foodstuff. This schooling behavior,  sometimes referred to as a baitball, evolved as a means of protection.  If a shark or other predator approaches, the group parts in unison -  making it difficult for the invader to target a specific fish. As a...

Ain't No Sunshine...

My wonderful partner Jeremy loved the Ain’t No Sunshine routine so much that he was inspired  to make this beautiful image of me. I just wanted to share it with you because it’s so special and means so much to both of us but especially today since we are saying goodbye to the incredible Bill Withers. The world has lost another legend this week.

Why Is The Ocean Blue?

It's commonly believed that the ocean is blue because it's reflecting the blue sky. But this is a misconception.

The ocean is blue because of the way it absorbs sunlight, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

When  sunlight hits the ocean, the water strongly absorbs long-wavelength  colors at the red end of the light spectrum, as well as short-wavelength  light, including violet and ultraviolet. The remaining light that we see is m...

French post cards, the money shot

As you’ve seen, there are many different types of French postcards. There were so many taboos at the time, it peaked peoples curiosity and creativity followed suit as it often does. But I think among the most coveted antique French postcards is the money shot card… Here are just a few of my weird little favorites🖤

Gypsy Rose Lee in Burlesque...

I wonder what Gypsy Rose Lee would have  thought about comics like these? I wonder if she would have laughed in  that way she did, or if she would have felt more objectified than she  was ready for? Here is a great article about Gypsy Rose Lee, give it a  read and let me know your thoughts?

She was tough and went toe to toe with the boys but she was a human and  did have feelings. I think the book is hilarious but I’m not the one  being objectified so I...
