I know it has been a while and not sure how much you check comments on older videos. I just came back to this one because I'm getting ready to buy a house that needs a lot of love. Like you, I thrive on home projects so I'm very excited. I have a vision for one of the rooms that would be great with this border. I know you put the bedroom wallpaper up for purchase. Are there still plans to put this one out for purchase as well?

2022-04-14 09:42:58 +0000 UTCNot sure if someone mentioned this already, but in Photoshop, when you select the brush tool, there is a butterfly icon that pops up on the tool options that you can use to mirror your drawings. Or make patterns depending on the option you choose.

But when you do go to Illustrator: https://youtu.be/n34-YmNJMrc?t=18 It's SOO much easier in Illustrator, but you're right the learning curve for Illustrator is intense.

There are places such as Spoonflower that do on-demand printing for a variety of fabrics, and I'll speak for myself when I say that I'd love to get my hands on some of your absolutely beautiful, whimsical, and unique designs on fabric! I know you mentioned in the recent publicly posted video that you might make the wallpaper available for purchase, but you could hand off the files to a textile printing place for those of us who love to work with fabric! Perhaps this is bold to suggest, but I would imagine a company like AGF (Art Gallery Fabrics) would DIE to have you design for them. It's not like you have a million irons in the fire as it is! :D

I can only imagine how fragile that paper was from the 1880's that you found on your walls. I recently purchased a 1970's home and have been installing wallpaper that I found at various estate sales that date back to the 1960's-70's....and that paper was incredibly fragile + difficult to work with! Adding on another 100+ years to that and I would think that paper is basically almost dust lol

I just love that the finished border brings to mind a sunken greek kingdom, overgrown and taken over by sealife, aged and worn down. Very, very cool.

2022-03-30 06:32:24 +0000 UTCChristine, I don't know how much this is intentional, but you got a very intriguing, ambiguous and delightful detail in your Mermaid drawing: I think you planned for her eyes to be milky and dreamy, looking straight forward. But it is very easy, when looking at the pattern, to see her eyes as dark, and distracted, looking leftward, with the same curious expression on her face. It's as though as an undersea creature like an octopus has appeared and caught her attention. Look at the pattern at different distances and see if you don't notice this. It's an incredible and wonderful ambiguous quality that is very intriguing. Brava! and I can't wait to see the finished papers. If you would be willing to share source info for the printers who produce the papers, it might be useful for others.
