Seeing this in the cinema was a completely different experience (obviously), the bass design made it feel like the heartbeats you hear during certain parts was your own. A cinema with atmos sound is a must.

After working 12 straight hours with only a 20 minute break to choke down a god awful lunch, I now relate to Giyu the most. My back is killing me and I’m pissed I have to go back and do it all over again tomorrow. Mad props to him for running around like a lunatic when I can’t even shift my weight without feeling nauseous

you're missing Daki. She also didn't choose, rather Gyuutaro made that decision for her to save her. Hence why when they died, she has the option to go into the light and he doesnt.

Pretty sure Giyu is one of the stronger Hashira there, probably 3rd or 4th pre mark and even with his mark he would have been cooked against Akaza. Meanwhile Akaza was SCARED of Kokushibo, we're gonna need some omega level backstory boosts to beat rank one, at this rate most of Hashira will be dead before they even reach Muzan.
If Tanjiro had 1-2 more years of training he would likely be stronger than Gyomei.

I would love to know if Mckay ever gotten emotional while reading the manga. Shinobu and Akaza had me balling at this point of the story😭

the fact that akaza is the only demon we've been introduced to so far that didn't choose to become one is SO FITTING for who he was as hakuji. i also think the reason he didn't die when his head was cut of isn't just because of his will to live and become the strongest, it was also because his head is where muzan's demon blood was concentrated (i also think that's why he lost all his memories of his old life).

I figured there would be a full Akaza backstory, and I was mentally preparing myself to resist feeling bad for him. But godammit I was ugly crying in the theater. Thanks for waiting to watch with us!!!!

In Japan, a tweet like this has been going viral: “Those who have something precious taken from them by demons join the Demon Slayer Corps, while those who have something precious taken from them by humans become demons.”
The backstories of Kyojuro Rengoku and Akaza are striking foils to each other. Both were born with exceptional physical gifts, and both had frail parents. Rengoku’s mother was proud of him, while Hakuji’s father blamed himself for his own weakness and chose death so that Hakuji could have a chance at a decent life. In the end, Hakuji lost the people most precious to him at human hands.
As a result, Kyojuro embraced the duty of protecting the weak, while Akaza became a demon. This suggests that, had their circumstances been reversed, Akaza might have stood where Rengoku did. It also implies that, at their core, the two shared the same fundamental convictions.
