Serpentine!

A few days ago, I felt the need to switch gears again - I hadn't worked on my Maya tools in months, so it was time to make some progress!  And I have made progress over the past few days, although it's a weird case of being big and small at the same time...

Back in October, I started a major revamp of my tools, with a heavy emphasis on class inheritance. I'd mainly focused on my control class, but this past weekend I decided it was time to work on the next level - a group of controls, forming a FK rig. Once that was functional, I spent the next day working on a new IK class. After that, my next task was to write a third class that inherited from the other two, combining them into one rig. Now that that's working in the simplest sense, there's still a lot of code to port over or re-write for all three rigs.

Before I dive back into the code, between today and Friday I want to finish the one remaining pinup from my catch-up batch. On Saturday I'm heading out of town, and a job interview earlier today has me thinking maybe I should open my commission list once I reach my destination...

Kind of? I use Maya for everything, but once I've assembled a decent rig, I'll write Python scripts to apply it to other characters quickly and consistently

Woah. Does that mean you work with your own software to create the 3d models you make?
