Ok so I saw Withering Heights yesterday and I thought it was really good! Like 8/10. Not a perfect movie but the aesthetics go crazy and the story was interesting. Margot played an entitled bxtch so well! Jacob played his character well too.

I couldn’t tell if that was on purpose or not. She does look older in this movie, no shade at all but I’m assuming she’s suppose to be a young woman in the movie

The subliminal sado-masochistic dynamics between Cathy and Heathcliff and how that is kind of inherent to romance both as human condition and as a genre. I do think margot look old in movie but didn't mind it because I think it helped get across both feelings of kink because she's playing a bratty teen but also making her woe is me attitude read all the more pathetic and frustrating. People keep jumping down Fennell's throat because she said this is how her 14yo self interpreted the book. But she is not the first person to see it as a romance and this movie to me is her really displaying the components that lead to people seeing it as romance and makes us confront what that says about the broader concept of romance. I too love the costume, set, and score. They all really heighten the melodrama of the film when I agree that it underdoes the sex. I am in the camp that Emily Bronte was just as racist as everybody else in her time so white heathcliff saves us from raceplay being on the silver screen. I'd give 3.5/5 stars.

I know home kits don’t work on people w darker skin, but I think I might be light enough, I’m not mixed, definitely brown but w yellow undertones. I don’t have the money or time to go to a professional rn (and trying to do this on a budget with no control over the laser can mean scary burns) My main hang up was that I thought it might cause cancer, it probably won’t lol, and also it may reverse but the laser process isn’t that bad/painful so I can always retouch. Thanks for putting me on girl

One flew over the cuckoo's nest is coming to the west end , and they've casted two black male actors in the role which I love because it will highlight some of the racial complexities that other adaptations ignore . I didn't care for the netflix adaptation because they did nurse Ratched so dirty , but I wasn't pressed because I love the book so much
