[EARLY VIDEO] A huge video about the Hurstbridge line!

Hi everyone, I finally got this one finished! This video started off as a very simple idea of just talking through the features of the Hurstbridge line one by one - I know this line very well, and I thought it wouldn't take at all long to throw it all together.. that was in October last year! It's definitely been the highest-effort video I've made so far, despite being on a pretty niche topic (next-most effort would have been the Overland video, which also took a lot of work). Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed it! It was certainly very interesting having all that old signalling stuff in use at 'my' station when I was high school, and most other locals had no idea how unusual it was. I wasn't counting that road at Lilydale because it's a private railway access track - although to be fair the public do use it, and the Google streetview car drove down it (Marcus Wong wrote about that: https://wongm.com/2022/08/google-street-view-car-lilydale-line-trainspotting/) But the road I'm thinking about is a normal public road with a name. ;)

Me and the kids will be watching this on the big TV after dinner tonight. Excite!

Amazing video! I didn't know there was that kind of 19th century signaling still in use in Eltham in the 2010s. I watched a video of drivers on the Upfield line in the 1990s and they used that rod on a hoop thing too, I thought to myself 'I wonder what that is!'. I know there's an unpaved road section near Lilydale when you're coming in past the quarry, as I used to catch the train to Swinburne Lilydale every day back in 2012/2013.
