Ok, so i am on the spectrum, neurodivergent, adhd/autistic high functioning. And chevy chase has been a pivotal comedian to the development of my sense of humor. See, i am what the therapists call a "concrete personality" ie. I take everything very literally and i dont get slapstick. So i would watch these mo ues and be genuinely worried about everything and everyone especially Clark Griswold. So as i grew up and started to get a handle on my different perspective i began to realize i am SUPPOSED TO SORT OF HATE Clark! Lol! So when all these awful things happen to him i can laugh because he DESERVES these terrible moments! In my house we call it "a bag of nickels"... its a bag of nickels to the balls... we got that reference from 'family guy.' Clark is so hateable so we can laugh later when he takes another hit.
