Good Night (Guten Abend, gute Nacht) - demo

Hey there - I've been working in Klosterneuburg all week long, walking an immense amount of steps per day, talking to a lot to customers - and apparently lost my voice doing that... So I'll share my latest finished demo with you, which I recorded on 2nd of August. I made small lyric changes since then, but overall it stayed the same. I find it very soothing, basically feels like what the lyrics tell the listener - they contain a reference to a german lullaby, I broadly quoted the lines of its first verse in my second one, it's the german part of the song. If you don't know the original one, maybe listen to it, it has a beautiful melody too - written by Johannes Brahms, one of the most famous german romantic composers, he used a poem by Georg Scherer to create this sweet lullaby... :)

I got the idea for the topic of the song during a concert I've been to the day before, by Fil Bo Riva at Radiokulturhaus here in Vienna. I really liked his voice, their arrangements and the acoustic setup they had and felt quite inspired after that, good concerts are one of my major sources of inspiration honestly, they get me going like, uhhh I wanna create something like that too :)

I had the music and melody written before (maybe you remember it, I shared it here a couple of weeks ago) and both made me really calm, so I kept thinking about what else would make me feel this way... And I remembered my Oma (grandmother) singing this lullaby to me when I was little, my sister & I were usually visiting our grandparents during summer holidays and she usually sang this song right before we fell asleep. Now she's very old and has strong dementia, I sadly only see her very rarely, cause I live so far away from my family so I'm afraid she might not even recognize me the next time I'll be around... But I should sing this lullaby to her, now it's my turn to sing it before bedtime.
