POLL: Audience Cut Movie for April
Added 2024-03-22 12:09:38 +0000 UTCThe winner of this poll will get a FULL UNCUT reaction & Audience Cut episode. Neither Alex or Josh has seen any of these movies
The top 4 runner-up movies will return for the next poll, and the bottom 3 will not.
Dozens of new movies recommended on the last post to add to the list, so that is being updated and then for the next few polls we will only be taking choices from the list, so if there are still any movies you want added, make sure to comment them on the post titled CHOOSE THE NEXT AUDIENCE CUT CONTENDERS from last week. NOT on this post.

2024-03-25 04:58:05 +0000 UTCI grew up with Blues Brothers (“And if that biscuit doesn’t bounce back in your mouth… then you go hungry BOW BOW BOW. “) and I have no interest in watching it again lol. It’s okay. Much rather Akira. Contact and Demo Dude are great too.

2024-03-25 01:15:03 +0000 UTCLooks like Demolition Man is really going to blow the other movies.

2024-03-24 20:00:54 +0000 UTCSneakers is awesome, I ended up going to that movie on a pass from a friend without knowing the first thing about it, and it turned out to be a gem

2024-03-24 06:56:55 +0000 UTCI went with Blues Brothers

2024-03-24 00:21:47 +0000 UTCLOL! No, just thought it would be easier. Thanks, that gave me a good laugh.

2024-03-23 17:36:03 +0000 UTCWhy, is there a movie that starts with “A” you really want us to watch? 😁
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-03-23 17:06:54 +0000 UTCMaybe you guys could just start watching the movies from the list in alphabetical order?

2024-03-23 16:37:49 +0000 UTCI submit Real Genius for the May react. It's a moral imperative

2024-03-23 14:47:03 +0000 UTCReminder that the first 2 Patron picks were Apollo 13 & 12 Angry Men. Obviously there have been several sci-fi picks recently though.
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-03-23 12:55:26 +0000 UTCThat's why I like Sneakers or Oscar. Neither is sci-fi and both are unique hidden gems in my opinion.

2024-03-23 03:13:28 +0000 UTCIt’s funny how that works
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-03-23 02:19:55 +0000 UTCEveryone says they love Sneakers but it's so low on the poll 😭
Andrea R
2024-03-23 02:05:05 +0000 UTCI think star trek as the focus of channel has created a "biased voting pool". Having said that outside of Trek I'm not huge on Sci fi...but I did pick demolition man.

2024-03-23 01:42:28 +0000 UTCI love Sneakers. Excellent cast, clever dialogue. I watch it every couple of years.

2024-03-23 01:29:23 +0000 UTCMoon being this low is a crime against humanity. Such an amazing movie.

2024-03-22 22:37:19 +0000 UTCScience fiction again?
Ken R
2024-03-22 19:58:49 +0000 UTCThere are so many good movies on this list, it was hard for me to choose. Sneakers and Akira and Contact are old favorites. Moon is fantastic yet little known. I voted for the Rocketeer just for Billy Campbell.
Ian Westcott
2024-03-22 19:54:58 +0000 UTCWe can make it happen the guys don't need to endure the tedious Blues Brothers

2024-03-22 16:43:04 +0000 UTCI agree.

2024-03-22 16:36:07 +0000 UTCAs did I! Both are great.

2024-03-22 16:35:36 +0000 UTCI'm with you. I miss the 80's!!!

2024-03-22 16:33:30 +0000 UTCI voted Blue's Brothers but hope Contact makes it to another list. I read the book it's adapted from, written by Carl Sagan, before the movie was made. Great book and the movie adaptation was very good. Demolition Man is excellent also....and if it is chosen or makes it to the next list I'm anticipating how Alex and Josh react to how prevalent it is to today's society.
Monty Crawford
2024-03-22 16:30:10 +0000 UTCI'd have chosen 'Moon', except that it goes into territory that might be too similar to a couple of things you've both watched on the channel. So....it's 'The Rocketeer' instead for a change of pace.
Numinous2019
2024-03-22 16:29:06 +0000 UTCI agree about "Sneakers". I also enjoyed it but not enough for a rewatch. But then again I watched it during the peak of my alcoholic period, it's a miracle I remember watching it at all.
Monty Crawford
2024-03-22 16:26:23 +0000 UTCI read the Sagan novel before seeing the movie. Never a good order to encounter a story, because the movie almost never measures up to a book. A lot of stream-lining and condensing of characters and plot in Zemeckis' film.
Numinous2019
2024-03-22 16:25:49 +0000 UTCDemolition Man but Sneakers?! You have to find time to watch that. Love that movie. And Rocketeer is a fun movie I fondly remember from my childhood. I had a bunch of merch from that movie.

2024-03-22 15:33:00 +0000 UTCWith the vast market of YouTube reaction channels all covering the same movies over and over, people see a slightly forgotten classic like Sneakers in a poll and get excited. Plus, it's one neither of the guys have seen, based on the pdf they posted. It's not getting TOO much love -- just us outspoken 3%ers.
Juan Tutrífor
2024-03-22 15:31:15 +0000 UTCProbably won't win this Poll, but you Gotta give The Rocketeer a watch sometime, basically 1930s Iron Man
Justin DiBari
2024-03-22 15:26:15 +0000 UTCI saw "Sneakers" once, years ago. I liked it, but I'm surprised by the level of love it's getting on here. I must not remember it clearly enough...
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-03-22 15:06:03 +0000 UTCI love "Contact" too (although I voted for "The Blues Brothers"). My late mother, however, who was the smartest person I ever knew, refused to watch "Contact" because she said it was too intellectual for her!
Anthony Bernacchi
2024-03-22 15:04:42 +0000 UTCMan, Akira's never gonna win 😭
Michael Mannisto
2024-03-22 14:37:17 +0000 UTCSNEAKERS is an amazingly solid and smart film. Probably the one film on here next to Contact with the highest amount of artistic mise en scene and storytelling. Sneakers is underrated and sublime from the casting to the performances to the writing to the musical score. Just brilliant.
Michael Nemo
2024-03-22 14:33:35 +0000 UTCFire in the sky, while not an A-level film, has some great stuff, and some creepy scenes. At some point, I hope we watch it on here.
Chris S.
2024-03-22 14:28:16 +0000 UTCTop 4 off this list would be Contact, Sneakers (which I voted for because it's always been a bit of a sleeper), Rocketeer, and Moon.
Avaria
2024-03-22 13:56:26 +0000 UTCOnce again I will refrain from voting because I have no interest in any of the nominees.
KatWithAttitude
2024-03-22 13:51:35 +0000 UTCContact is superb, from the cinematography to sound design to FX it’s top notch. The cast is also excellent. I envy people watching it for the first time. It’s almost like a prequel to Arrival in some ways but dealing with the theme in a completely different way.
Paul Rymer
2024-03-22 13:29:00 +0000 UTCContact an Akira really aren't my type of movies but, every single one of these movies is an excellent choice and I think you guys would probably enjoy every single one of them I voted for The Blues Brothers but, Demolition Man is an excellent choice
harrypothead42024
2024-03-22 13:22:11 +0000 UTCDemolition Man. Is it pretentious that I think I already know what Josh's reaction will be?
Steven Johnson
2024-03-22 13:17:44 +0000 UTCThere won’t be a YouTube version of the reaction
Josh (Target Audience)
2024-03-22 13:13:41 +0000 UTCBlues brothers is great but is going to be a pain editing for YouTube or whatever. Demolition man is really good too.
Eric Wilson
2024-03-22 13:09:23 +0000 UTCBlues Brothers will probably be relegated to second place again :/
Evan Guthrie
2024-03-22 12:51:52 +0000 UTCOh, we have to get Contact higher on those numbers... It is such an amazing film. Got my vote.
David Wayne Fox
2024-03-22 12:28:08 +0000 UTCSneakers. Man. It still holds up, though at this point so much of what it talks about is basically archaeology. I miss how the world felt in 1992. (Though the attitude of most of the characters in the movie seems to be "I miss the world of 1972," so I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.)
