CHOOSE THE NEXT AUDIENCE CUT CONTENDERS

The Audience Cut poll for April's movie will be coming next week. Last month, The Abyss (1989) won the poll, and our reaction to that is coming soon. Here are the 4 runner up movies that will return to the poll this month.

Akira (1988), The Blues Brothers (1980), Moon (2009), The Rocketeer (1991)

In addition to the above 4 movies, there will be 4 new contenders added to the poll as well. An updated list of movies we've been recommended is attached. Comment below what movie (one per comment please) should be added to the poll. We will choose 4 from the most commented and liked movies on this post.

If you want to suggest a movie not on the attached list feel free to do that as well, but please make sure to check our MOVIES COLLECTION here on Patreon to make sure we have not already reacted to it.

I feel like we don't actually have to suggest Josh and Alex watch literally any film with even the briefest Trek actor appearance or most tenuous Trek connection.

JD Nevesytrof

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest: Christopher Lloyd as Taber played Kruge in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock; Michael Berryman as Ellis played Captain Rixx in the TNG episode Conspiracy; Vincent Schiavelli as Frederickson played the holographic arms dealer in the TNG episode Arsenal of Freedom; and in a small role Peter Brocco as Colonel Matterson played an an Organian in the TOS episode Errand of Mercy.

Chtphr Rrr

What movie seen by Alex but not Josh includes 6 Star Trek actors, 4 of which they have already seen by now -- 1 from a movie, 2 from season 1 Star Trek: the Next Generation, and 1 from a Season 1 episode of the original series?

Transformers : The Movie. That hit pretty hard for me as a 9 yr old kid. Blew my tiny little mind. Whether the emotion will translate for Alex and Josh nearly 40 years later (yikes) I’m not sure. Could be a film of its time. Depends if they played with Transformers. 😂

Jon1701

The Naked Gun (i think the year is messed up onto the list - should be 87)

I might suggest 2001, but only in order to get the sequel, 2010 (1984), to the list. I actually think 2010 is the better movie (whereas 2001 is a cinematic experience).

Also, that soundtrack is MMMM!!!!!

Steven Johnson

They've already done a reaction to that one... But i'm hoping we can get them to do a rewatch when they get deeper into TNG/DS9/Voyager. The more Trek you know, the funnier it gets.

From your list: WarGames - would love to compare it to the AI you’ve seen in Star Trek, and the AI of today. It was scary in 1983, then silly for many years, and now it’s back to scary again. We watched it after Oppenheimer when we went on a nuclear kick. Brazil- cause it’s just wonderfully bonkers cray cray.

Stuart Arbury

Highlander

Andreas Schmitt

I didn’t see it on your list … big trouble in little China (1986) Kirt Russel

Lt Dan I scream

The Final Countdown (1980)

Ben Levitin

Sneakers. No second thought.

Juan Tutrífor

Fair enough! Even if it doesn’t need a reaction video, a discussion or restrospective would be cool. Especially as a lot of the themes of the movie have come up in recent TNG episodes…

Mister Hope

Any suggested movies not on the list will be added regardless if they make the poll or not!

Josh (Target Audience)

For A Few Dollars More! Call me crazy but it's my favorite in the Dollars trilogy (above The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly).

Evan Guthrie

We have both seen this (and love it), but that doesn't disqualify it!

Josh (Target Audience)

Oscar! (It not being on the list, if it is going to lose second choice is Gattaca). :-)

Eric Wilson

I'd love to see a classic John Wayne movie added to the list: The Quiet Man (especially with St. Patrick's Day being tomorrow)!
