I'm probably not going to Chicago this weekend.

I'm a little bummed to say it, but it looks like the Miss Motoblot competition is not in the cards for me this weekend. I was bested by two votes at the time of the deadline on Saturday night. I'm the first alternate, #21 in the list and only 20 get to perform.

Based on the chatter between contestants, it's unlikely someone will drop out. I do have flights scheduled to Chicago and back over the weekend, but I don't want to put the dogs in day care and rent a hotel room under the hope that someone will experience an issue the morning of the event. I was hoping someone would lose out on a babysitter or get called into work by this point. Seems very unlikely. I'll cancel my flights tonight.

Yet, since becoming an alternate I climbed up the standings. I've been at #16 for most of the week. I took this shot at 10am. The next one is from ten minutes ago.

I'm not actively campaigning and I got five votes today. I've stayed within the 20 since I became an alternate. DAMMIT! If the cut-off had been Sunday morning, I would been the stage this Saturday.

My weekend is now freer than it was going to be, so I have big plans to go to the movies, hit the studio, and maybe go to a wedding. Shoot some content for some of y'all locally.

I've got my sights on Motoblot for next year. I'm hoping to win my way into another pin-up contest this year. "Look ma! I can still do things with my clothes on!"
