I appreciate you sharing your WIPs here, as always! I have to admit, gesture is just one of those things I can't wrap my brain around - though in this case, I can definitely see a bit of how the curve matches at least her upper body, and how it's informed by the rest of the pose. I think perhaps I'm taking it too literally, as tends to be the case.
I did some quick pose sketches a couple days ago, and felt myself getting the idea - in my case, I have started to find I need to work bigger to get the flow. Curious if there were exercises that really made gesture click for you?

Alolan Ninetales is way up there for me too. I need to figure out how to get an Alpha Glaceon (or Vaporeon as the case may be)... I've been real slow with the game and putting too much time into unlocking that shiny charm :P

Glaceon is easily one of my favorite eeveelutions

I actually have an Alpha Glaceon on my team current in Legends Z-A weirdly enough, and I love that old Glaceon pic you had done in markers WAAAAAY back when. Though personally my favorite Ice-type specifically is a toss up between Lapras and Alolan Ninetales. But Glaceon is a close 3rd for that type specifically.

After Vaporeon, Umbreon might be my favorite eeveelution. Ooh, Lucario is always great for furry art... Still deciding how I feel about the new mega.

It's so fun working with characters who have a little extra weight to them, but on the more lean ones I love accentuating what curves they have, even if it's mostly through how they're posed.
I've got more than a few pokemon on my shortlist. Buizel or Floatzel are begging for attention...

Lovely! It's always nice to see your excellent takes on pokemorphs, and certainly so seeing another Glaceon pic! Once again I love how your characters have "weight" to them, even the thinner characters, in the way their poses crease their bodies in all the right ways. The same goes for their props too, like her snowboard and boots with the way they're held or positioned.

More of an Umbreon fan for the vee line, but this gal is shaping up nicely! My all time favorites are Lucario and Deino

I think Glaceon's design is super elegant, and she always holds herself with such poise in the artwork. It's hard to pick between her and Umbreon as my second favorite (after the inimitable Vaporeon of course).

It can be hard not to put down too many lines, and yeah you never want to make the initial sketch hard to figure out. Which is why I end up redrawing the same pose a few times :P I hope you're able to push through the slump you're feeling (or even take some time to rest), because your figures have a lot of weight and volume to them that I love seeing.
No snow in GA yet, but I keep hoping for it. Regardless, I'll be going somewhere very snowy for Christmas ^^

Honestly, seeing these warmups is inspiring. It's something that I really should be doing more of... My output has been rather slow as of late because, honestly... I've been struggling with nailing down poses that look good, on top of confusing myself by putting down far too many lines while drawing, like confusing lines of action with lines of the figure, or establishing the proper weight line while lining up the rest of the figure to sit properly onto it. That's something I honestly think you handle incredibly well, because all of your characters have a natural, very pleasant "heft" to how they stand and seem to move, whether they are petite and small or large and heavy, and it gets better and better with every piece you put out! Also, there really is something about seeing a cold weather gal handling it au naturale... It's also inspiring!
We're having quite the snowy year ourselves up here in the mitten... It's practically dark by about 5:30pm now, and the sun comes up around 8 to 8:30 am, so the days are far shorter indeed! Hope you're staying warm, and hope your christmas season is a cheery and jolly one!

As a Sinnoh fan, Glaceon holds a special place in my heart (along with Leafeon) even though they aren't my favorite Eeveelutions! I love how she looks so comfortable in that environment!
