Why is it hot as hell in the bay? Everywhere the weather is changing. Okami and I have driven south, but up in altitude on a quest to shoot with datdeerdoe among a small forest. A quest we definitively accomplished, but now we are onto look two, and trying something that I love, but also that I hate...shooting with bright as hell direct sun as backlighting.
I am not a person made to be in heat, and as I've grown older more and more I've avoided the sun, but I can't pretend that I don't love the color and direction of sunlight in images. Okami's hair, the forest, the fence all glowing with the mid day sun behind them.
Its a tricky thing, but when it works it works very well, and when it doesn't work inbetween those moments you find yourself completely blinded by stray bits of dappled light that dance like clouds in your vision for hours after. But the images are always worth it. Okami is a badass who inspires me to embrace a colorful image in a sun that I probably would have otherwise avoided
