"Monachopsis" describes the subtle but persistent feeling of being out of place in a situation or environment, like a seal on a beach. You feel awkward, clumsy, and easily distracted, often in the company of others who don't quite fit in either, and you dream of a place where you would effortlessly and brilliantly feel at home.
This word came to mind as I was photographing. Sometimes I have these strange flashes of thought. It's not a big deal. But that's how this title came about.
