2018-11-02 19:28:35 +0000 UTCMight be worth looking over his acknowledgments for later books in the series - as those few sentences in each tome are probably the only true examples of writing that he actually participated in. As a result, some are predictably awful. In particular, his cheesy kudos to Goulart in the penultimate installment, Tek Kill. During another, he (ironically) disses his ex wife for getting money from the publication via alimony because she had absolutely nothing to do with writing the book. That last one was in the hardcover version of one installment we had at my library - I wouldn't be surprised if he had to take it out of later printings.

2018-11-02 16:53:02 +0000 UTCI carried this book around in 9th-grade, back when it first came out, and I can attest that, despite what everyone might be thinking, it is NOT a "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" style chick magnet. "Oh, what am I reading? It's 'Tek War'... by William Shatner. Captain Kirk? City on the Edge of Forever? No? 'Rescue 9-1-1'? Nothing? Wait, come back!"
