Bette Machete x Bushkill Park - New Photo

Hi everyone, Happy Monday! I’m so excited to share a never before seen photo of Bette Machete with all of you. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing a total of 5 new uncropped (YAY) photos from our shoot at Bushkill Park in September of 2022. I’m starting off with my favorite of the 5.

Typically when we shoot for a big character project, we take around 1000+ photos. From there, I go through the set several times to choose which 8-10 photos best represent the character and story I’m trying to tell.

From this shoot in particular, we took 1200+ photos, and honestly, as I've said before, this is one of my favorite shoots Brendan and I have ever worked on together. Bringing a new character to life is always an exciting journey for me, but aside from that, I truly loved this location and the experience I had that day.

This area of the funhouse, as seen in the photo, shows paintings that have been at Bushkill Park since they first opened in 1902. Though the park has been through quite a few floods and suffered a lot of damage, the paintings are still mostly intact. While receiving a tour from Sue Klein that day, she shared with us that when they were restoring the funhouse after a flood that came through in 2020, they discovered more of these paintings hidden behind some walls of the funhouse. Truly incredible.

While posting these 5 photos over the next few weeks, I plan on talking more about my experiences at Bushkill Park with each photo. This was one of the first pictures we took that day while we were perfecting the lighting. When we originally took a tour of the funhouse the night before the shoot, I knew I had to have a picture taken in front of this (not so) little clown friend.

Before you go, be sure to peep the actually little daddy long leg friend above my head. I didn’t notice him until I was going through these photos again a few weeks ago haha! Ignorance is bliss.
