After we had our second child, my husband got a vasectomy. They didn’t use a laser though, old school scalpel. I sat in the waiting room and they just kind of dumped him out when it was done. He was white as a sheet but walked to the car. Sat on some peas for a couple of days and then he was fine. He said it didn’t “hurt” because he was numbed but that it did knock the wind out of him. I don’t have testicles so I’m not sure what he meant but it still seems less invasive than tubal ligation. He’s a good team player.

I was assigned female at birth but have always struggled with my identity. In my childhood, I felt comfortable dressing “masculine” like a stereotypical athlete (basketball shorts, t-shirts, caps). I hated “feminine” colors like pink or purple so I’d gravitate towards black. Now, as a young woman, I struggle with feeling feminine. I don’t feel like people view me as a woman nor do I feel like one even though I want to be. I don’t think it’s gender dysphoria because I know that I want to be a woman.

I'm in a gaming group online and sometimes folks will post a pic of an animated character and discuss how they are attractive or beautiful or having crushes on them. There are always responses like "ya'll are weird for liking that." When challenged, statements like "I don't mean to judge, i just think it's weird" are usually thrown out. What irks me about this, is how when folks say "ya'll weird," it centers that persons point of view as "normal" or baseline. And while it's ok to have our own opinions and thoughts about different things, statements like "yall weird" creates this strange hierarchy/dynamic that has the "weird" folks as less than. Like the person judging is kinda saying that their point of view is the "right" one. idk. When I see folks say things like "ya'll weird" or when talking about kinks and folks say "that's gross" it really bothers me. Like get over yourself. You are not the center of the universe.

Depends on where you are. It’s very nuanced with that over here. You go to one county and it’s very southern, the next and it’s highly influenced by Midwesterners/Northerners. A lot of permanent snow birds here. I am from Orlando and don’t relate to a lot of southern culture but understand it.
