(Timeline Tuesday #7)
Pluggles are small, friendly creatures with a distinct purple hue. Their body is protected by a large, hard shell, prompting many comparisons between the pluggle and the tortious. Indeed, these creatures express many similar features to reptilians on this timelines, like scaly skin, cold blood, and the ability to lay eggs.
In yet another similarity to the tortious of our native reality, pluggles are incredibly slow moving. In a twenty four hour period, a pluggle will travel approximately one foot if moving at full speed. It’s also in the nature of this species to take long rests and remain generally content in an unmoving state.
It is presumed this lack of speed is what prompted the pluggle to evolve its tough protective shell, and to gradually improve on this adaption over hundreds of millions of years. While it’s said these creatures are particularly tasty, they are much to useful to eat.
Pluggles use an array of small, tentacle-like appendages along the side of their body to collect unused energy floating through the air around us. The most common energy they gather is heat or light, but pluggles also thrive off static electricity and even radio waves. This energy is stored within the creature, but it can be tapped through a long strip of outlet’s that grow along the ridge of their shell.
Due to their effectiveness in providing clean, seemingly endless energy, pluggles are literally worshipped as religious entities on their home timeline. Here, dedication is significantly less fervent, but the species is still highly sought after and protected. Many high end offices will purchase and care for their own pluggles, allowing the creatures to sleep peacefully below desks and provide energy without a care.
