What do you want to see from me this year?

Hey, folks! I'm contemplating where to turn my attention after wrapping up this current video. At any given point, I have several pages of notes on videos I'd like to make. Most of them will never see the light of day, but here are a handful from the list that I think could be worth exploring.

I'd love to know - which one of these ideas intrigues you the most? Which seems the most relevant to our current moment, or like it hasn't been done before?

Feel free to comment expanding on your choice (or suggesting other topics entirely!)

Hoping the next poll is all of these topics less whichever one you end up making next, these are all really intriguing :)

These are all excellent and I hope they all get to be made someday, but I'm especially compelled by "Why would I want eternity?" I remember seeing a post screencap from someone emphasizing that transhumanism isn't about wanting to be detached from humanity or uploaded into the cloud or anything like that, and yet I've come across plenty of people very vocally expressing exactly that desire, including an older man I met who was very much looking forward to getting to eventually become his VR chat avatar, and to live forever in his digital consciousness as an 8ft tall muscular white anthro lion man with wings. This topic has also been a point of contention with my father since I was an early teen. He has a fear of mortality and feels like he needs to have the certainty of knowing what is next after death for his consciousness. He's gotten into a lot of life extension stuff here and there over the years too, reading about expensive supplements and other things, excited by the idea of living longer with youthful vitality. But this doesn't translate into, like, exercising more or being more in tune with his own body. I can't help but feel like this is related to his own relationship to ego, which is nothing exceptional-- very standard for a white cishet man of his generation. I can't relate to this desire to retain my consciousness in it's same shape after my death. I have an awful lot I want to do before I die, so I hope I have a handful of good decades to go, but at the end of the day, I find a certain comfort about knowing that the thin boundaries between myself and the greater mass of life on this planet will dissolve. The idea of being held back from that-- of strengthening that boundary between myself and the rest of life on this earth, of trying to lift myself above it-- that sounds like horror to me. I think there is something of whiteness in this desire to escape our mortal nature, too. Why should we deserve to escape what is fundamental? Why can't we just recognize ourselves as fellow animals and learn to love the dirt and the decomposition that is the source of all new life, anyway?

"why would I want eternity" is such a great title that I'm assuming that's where your heart is! Follow that! Although I would be super interested to hear you talk about the pitfalls of consumer activism, as it's a discussion I often find myself in πŸ™ƒ

Public Art is "Like That" because the art projects are administered by committees who have little or no background in art. Fear of offending some group of voters or causing a widely publicized controversy overrule any other values or considerations.
