Knight Collage (Graphic Novel Preview)

Please enjoy these snippets of some of my favorite shots of the Silver Knight mechs.

I'm considering using the far upper right panel to turn into a full desktop background. I'm just obsessed with the angle.

Hope everyone's week is going well!

Shoulder Rest

Well, Raina tried to stay awake...

We get a double dose of bits this week, so yay!

Calibrating (Oasi Bits)

A slightly better drawn bit (for the sake of my favorite green machines).

With Klaus being the youngest and having the babiest of faces, he does get picked on a lot. Though it's nothing he can't handle.

Hope you enjoy a knight flippin' the bird.

Graphic Novel Update (Page 17 & 18 previews)

I wanted to share another update for y'all. Things are steadily progressing with the first chapter. Page 17 is complete (1st pic is a snippet of me working on it), and 18 is ready to get lined (2nd pic is the storyboard for it). This scene is fun because I get to show the boyz in action.

Happy weekending!

Thumb Wrestling Match

Captain Gilcrest is finally having some fun.

This concept gave me an excuse to draw some really dumb faces. I love dumb faces, man. I've attached my initial scribble which probably made me WAY too happy.

Speaking of happy, it's Friday, y'all.

"Easy To Carry"

Raina is both dedicated and practical- she makes no exceptions, which is what makes her a good soldier. Unfortunately for Seth, he has the feels for said person which makes his life somewhat miserable.

Also, I have completed the first scene of chapter 1 and have started to storyboard the second scene. To say I'm pumped would be an understatement. Lol. Will share some works in progress soon.

Cheers!

"Merten's Mech Doodle"

Lt. Jacob Clarke is on his way to his knight when he sees the doodle painted on the windshield. Spc. Seth Mertens has struck again.

"What about a second break?"

Definitely needed to mirror this movie meme. I figured matching it to a training session when the Silver Knight squadron was still young would be perfect.

Raina's "second break" probably consisted of an immediate set of push-ups.

Driving with the Squad

Another quick bit inspired by memes. Here we have the idiots hard at work. Seth has the wheel this time. Again, these aren't necessarily cannon to my graphic novel, but they do accurately portray the characters' personalities. I've included the original meme that inspired me for this one.

I really enjoy drawing funny stuff. It's a huge stress reliever. I'm going to start calling these "Oasi Bits" and have a whole tag dedicated to them. Patrons get first dibs on the newest ones and comp...

Graphic Novel WIP (Ch. 1 PG 13, last 2 panels)

Hello!

Time to share an update on the graphic novel! More mechs!!! This is a snip of page 13 showing a couple of the last panels from sketch to finish (minus the sound effects and dialogue).

I am almost done with page 15 and have page 16 sketched up. Page 16 will conclude the initial battle scene, while page 17 will switch to the 2nd. Once I complete the second scene, the first chapter will be done! (WOO-HOO!) I estimate the total pages for chapter 1 to be about 30, so I am ...

Raina's "Eat Plasma" (Revised)

I really liked this pose for Raina and wanted to use it again with my newer painting techniques. I may add another version later with her upper armor and helmet on. She is such a fun character to draw!

Anyways, back to the novel. Will be working on more pages for the next few days. Will be posting some WIP's on it soon.

Cheers!

Sanguitar Wallpaper

Here's the "Blood Bull" of Oasi! This took me days to do, so I hope you enjoy! The downloadable JPeg is attached below. Please feel free to enjoy for personal use, but please do not share or redistribute.

I've included an entry (PDF also downloadable below) about this alien creature if you would like to read about them.

Levin's Stained Hands + Wallpaper Update

Some goodies for my patrons:

First and foremost, Levin going berserk. I found another technique in painting that goes very nicely with comic styles - especially muscles. I like dem muscles. We all like dem muscles.

Secondly, I've been hard at work trying to get this Sanguitar wallpaper done, and let me tell you, these deets are taking me FOREVER. But it will be worth it. (I've included a WIP preview for y'all) The canyon walls and animal skin require my utmost attention. I'm takin...

Last Chocolate Bar

Decided to draw the squad fighting over a chocolate bar. I'm making this canon because it would have definitely happened. Canned and packaged food are the only real options on off-world missions, and chocolates become scarce fast.

(Middle w/ choco bar: Seth Mertens)

(Top big dude: Jacob Clarke)

(Left getting biffed: Klaus Wozniak)

(Left grabbing shirt: Brien Ingolf)

(Right grabbing shoulder: Raina Ingolf)

(Right grabbing leg: Konnor Serrano)

Sanguitar Preview

Here is a work-in-progress preview of the next wallpaper I'm creating along with a reference sheet. This nasty looking dude is called a "sanguitar". This Oasian creature's name translates to "blood bull", and it appears several times throughout my novel.

Sanguitar are the most feared creature on Oasi. These animals' key feature is their hammer-like protrusions on their skulls. They use this to - you guessed it - bash the shit out of things.

"Let's Grapple" Comic Process 2 (Oasi's Fallen)

I'm sharing a chunk of some of my favorite panels from chapter 1. Raina gets down to business as she shifts gears from using her mech's plasma cannons to its hands. Here you can see what steps I take to flesh out the scene: starting with the rough sketch and ending with all the deets. Sound effects and dialogue are a trip to experiment with. Lol

"Not that. This." (Levin Meme)

Again, just turning my characters into popular memes. This one was made after the Drake meme.

Levin appreciates the angry hedgehog type.

Sharing is Caring (revised little comic)

I had posted this comic several months ago when these two's designs were still in early process. This one was a must to update.

Levin looks less like an egghead, and Raina doesn't look like an emaciated ghost. Lol. Also, Levin used to have physical scars, but I've decided that makes no sense according to his tampered physiology.

I'll have more new stuff this weekend.

Cheers!

Salt Bae Raina

It's grillin' season!

Salt Bae Raina is a gender bend on the "salt bae" or "salt guy" meme (2nd photo). With how she brags about her grilling skills, I thought this was only fitting. Also, her hair style was perfect for this. lol.

Comic Preview + Reaper Reference Sheet

Comic preview for y'all! Here's one of my latest completed panels.

We've seen a lot of the mech on the left. The green ones (also called 'knights') are the war machines Raina and her squadron pilot. Here we see a knight being attacked by what is called a 'reaper' (right). Reapers are named due to the devastating blade structures built into their forelimbs. Like knights, reapers are a single occupant machine. I've attached the reference sheet for it as well.

Captain Gilcrest and Lieutenant Clarke

Side Character Bios:

Capt. Gilcrest (left): Captain Raymund Gilcrest is the leader of the Silver Knight Squadron. He is 40 years old, stands at 5’ 10”, and weighs 165 lbs. His countenance may come across severe, but he gives more leeway to his subordinates than other officers. He is quite capable of putting soldiers in their place but also knows when to trust his subordinates' judgements. This has earned him a reputation of tactfulness rarely seen by other captains. The squadron cal...

Comic Panel Process

Hello and Happy Weekend!

I wanted to give an update as well as a behind the scenes goodie. I've just completed page 6 of the first chapter, so here is a panel from it as well as the process.

My first step in drawing out a panel is sketching. My rough sketch's job is to only capture general shapes and perspective. Overall, it looks like trash but gets the idea across. lol

The second step is the line art. This is the most time-consuming step in the Oasi's Fallen novel. I've co...

Project Teaser/Concept Art

Just wanted to gift my awesome patrons with an update and some more goodies. I've currently completed the prologue and first 3 pages of chapter 1 for my new graphic novel. This first picture is another panel from chapter 1. I'm currently very pleased at how well the pages are turning out. I feel like I am nailing the vibe I've envisioned for this story. I hope I can continue getting it right.
Second picture is a reference sheet I drew up for the machines you've been seeing. I'm doing this ...

Gidach System (concept art)

Here I've painted the moon system in which my graphic novel takes place: The Gidach System. Gidach (pronounced: GEE-dock) is a gas-giant planet with three moons. Two of the three moons are inhabitable with atmospheres similar to earth.

Nevma (far left) is a completely lush and tropical moon with temperatures always staying between 48 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Nevma roughly translates to "spirit". It was named due to its invigorating biome and was reported as a "heavenly planet" fro...

Oasi Bivouac (Concept Art)

This was a fun experiment done in honor of my graphic novel I have written. I wanted to do a very large piece complete with characters and landscape. The goal was to try and capture the feel of one of my scenes. This one happens to take place during a geomagnetic storm on a dusty moon. The earth on this moon is very red, like clay, and the geomagnetic storms cause lots of auroras in the sky. Combined with the red dust, I'd imagine it would be a very dazzling display. These storms also disrupt...

Project Announcement!

Good evening, my patrons!

I'm finally announcing a project that I've been working on for the past few months. I won't be disclosing too much because I really want this to be a nice surprise when I start releasing the content. Here is a concept painting created specifically for this project - the only teaser I'll be displaying for now.

I've always loved to write. In fact, this project is based on a short story I wrote years ago. I could never get the concept out of my head... It wa...
