This cluttered map just begs for environmental interaction. Why, just in our cropped preview image we see pots to be smashed, fish to be wielded, crates to be hurdled, fire to be magic'd, and weapons to be poked. Don't forget the civilians to be AOE'd, either!
Thanks to all of you, this map's released under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

The real festival starts when the sun sets and the lanterns are lit! And what better time is there for a pickpocket strike, orcish raid, or cult incursion?

After seventy eight days exploring Japan, I'm now on my way home. It's been an incredible trip; I've made new friends, grown a beard, and collected a bounty of photos and other inspirations I intend to funnel into our maps.
Starting next week (assuming I don't catch anything at the airports) Im going to dive back into a proper ma...

Hi Patrons! I'm in Japan till the end of the week, and I'm looking forward to getting home to my nice, quick Photoshop setup so I can color it.
In the meantime, please enjoy this free, lines-only prerelease!
I'm curious, during combat, how do you deal with crowds in your games? Personally, I scatter some general-use game pieces on the board and haphazardly shift them around every other turn. It makes the AOE blasters sweat!

Wow! It turns out that we've accomplished every goal that I set down when I created this Patreon campaign. That's an immense thing, and what a way to start the new year?
That said, we need some more milestones to work towards! I have jotted down a few of my "grand scale" projects in poll form below, and I hope that your votes will give me direction as to which one to tackle first. I will be working on one project per $50 we achieve past $300/map, with standalone maps and set pieces in-between....

The first town map in a LONG time! This one ties together all the maps I've created while travelling Japan, and makes for a decent intro town, in my opinion. More compatible maps to come, too!
Thanks to everyone here, this map's released under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

Hi everyone! The town map above just needs to be packaged up before I can share it officially. I have a lot to do tomorrow so I plan to do this the day after.
The other thing I wanted to mention is that I've decided not to paint any maps until I get home around two weeks from now. The reason is that this travel-laptop of mine is dying under the weight of Photoshop, and I'm pulling my hair out waiting for simple commands taking 10-30 seconds (when they should take 1-3). We're quite literally ta...

First, a big thank you! We've reached another milestone recently and I'm excited and encouraged by it. More CC maps coming! What other milestones should we shoot for now?
Second, sorry for my quiet absence. The truth is I got terribly sick last week and am only now getting over it. Very poor timing, I know! The good news is that I'm okay, and I ...

This bridge marks our first >$300 map, meaning our first Creative Commons submission! A big thanks to everyone who has made this possible. You may note that I went with a NonCommercial license . This is only so I can vet the products in which it's sold and ensure they add something substantial to the map. So, if you'd like to use this map commercially, please 2017-01-05 10:27:26 +0000 UTC

Hello again. I've been making a few changes around Patreon and thought I'd compile them here in a rough order of importance. Here they are:
Monthly Limits and Map Deliveries
When I started on Patreon, the monthly limits of your pledges were hidden from me so, despite the intention being $1-per-map-plus-bonus-material, I had no way of knowing if someone was manipulating the monthly maximum. So long as they ticked "$1/map, monthly limit: $1" they would receive e...

Happy New Year everyone! Thanks to everyone here, 2016 became a real milestone for me. It was the first year my art began resembling something you might call a real job! I hope to keep this same velocity heading into 2017, and I hope you'll enjoy the ride.
For now, I have your January coupon: enter samuraiandsnow at the checkout for $1 off your cart, any time before February 02.

I'm taking it easy too, but I figured "why not release this tea house early to my Patrons?" You'll receive it again with the rock garden map coming later this week, but maybe some of you will find use for it before then.
Let me know how your holiday D&D games go!

Last night we crossed the $250/map milestone!
That figure's been growing at a steady rate for the past few months, and I'm convinced it will keep going on to rival "normal work". It's a dream coming true.
I still have about a month and a half in Japan before I go home, and it's greatly sweetened by the knowledge that I won't be going back to a life-or-death job. I'll probably keep it for a few months to recoup some of this vacation spending, but a job is always ...

I'm writing this from my short-term Kyoto apartment, where I'm going to settle in for the next month. Before me rests everything I need to make maps again, and I'm excited to get into it! Hi everyone!
Thank you for sticking with me. I wish I could keep posting every week right now, but I've been in hardcore holiday sightseeing mode. In case you didn't already know, I'm currently touring around Japan until February.
I have another week jam-packed with travel plans but, come December, I will be settling down enough to actually create some more maps! I'm looking forward to it very much; I'm much better suited to slower paced holidays than rapid fire sightseeing!

Second, I'd like to announce that I will be travelling in Japan for 80 days beginning mid November! I've decided I must visit the place, and this is the year to do it!
