Vactrol is one of the parts that is difficult to obtain.
We compared LCR0203, which is inexpensive and widely distributed, and NSL-7053, which is used in some modules.
The voltage attenuation characteristics are clearly different.
NSL-7053 has near-instrument-like damping characteristics.
On the other hand, LCR0203 has good responsiveness and has excellent performance as an electronic component.

For my project I am using very cheap jacks bought from aliexpress. The price is less than 10 cents per unit.

Arduino uno R4 is now available.
It is equipped with an MCU made by Renesas Electronics, and its faster processing and DAC show great potential.
With 5V I/O and many ADCs, the MCU is easy to use for modular synths compared to the Raspberry Pico.
A small Arduino R4 compatible board was sold in Japan.

Proposed claves percussion circuit with gate input as power source.
I will not assemble it because of a few bad points.
1. It is difficult to adjust the frequency. If the impedance is out of balance, it will not attenuate and will not stop oscillating.
