Next Update

After this last big update, I'm switching to a monthly update schedule. All of the giant, massive time sink updates are done, so going forward I can release smaller, more modular updates. Things like new favors, or improved versions of old favors, new cosmetics, etc. But because I've spent so long with clear goals, I'm not really sure where to focus my dev time now that those are finished. Should Claire Pennyworth have a significant other?

I'm reviewing early parts of the game and rewriting select scenes so they fit around new content better. I'm considering giving Claire a boyfriend, or maybe a girlfriend, to increase the storytelling potential and open new avenues for fetishes. I'll put these changes on the back burner until I get a feel for what you guys think, but I'm going to have to move forward in a couple days to stay on schedule. It's been a long day, so this might be less coherent than I'd like. You'll have to forgive me for that. 

Every so often I'm asked why I insist on work alone on Bitch Breaker, or why I haven't found a dedicated artist yet. The answer to these questions is both very complicated and immensely simple: making games is hard.

Notes on the upcoming update

This one's been a tough one. I lost most of the end of December, including the holidays and early January, to influenza - not the cool, Stephen King 80's novel Chinese kind, but the lame American fuck you for the next few weeks and enjoy your blisteringly hot brain and vivid, soul-crushing hallucinations kind- and as a result I didn't have the time to release the smaller update I had planned to expand Sugar Brown's content. Update on the Update on the Update

I never understood the 90/10 rule of programming until I started trying to make a game. The rule, as I understand it, is: 90% of the work takes 90% of the time, the last 10% also takes 90% of the time. 

The current update consists of somewhere north of 25,000 lines of code, and it may be significantly larger when I'm done. I've been working as much as I can to sort through it all and chase game-breaking bugs, but it's getting to the point where my brain feels like it's melting. It'...

Update Status

The good news:

The update is nearly ready. I've got a mountain of code to sort through and clean up, but most of the new content works most of the time, and that's always encouraging.  The new Sugar Brown dating mechanics should make for a nice change of pace from the core game's more aggressive, sadomasochistic content with Ms. Pennyworth. New NPC

It always struck me as odd that I had the Bitch arguing with no one in the opening of the game. This lead me to create a new NPC. At the moment, I'm just calling her coffee girl. Feel free to make suggestions for her name. I'll make a poll later containing some of your suggestions and you guys can choose.

I ran into to some last minute problems trying to pull the update together last night that created some gamebreaking bugs. I spent the night trying to squash them and get everything ready. I'm going to get a few hours of sleep, but I'll post the update within 8 hours with a change log.

The poll has been up for a pretty short period of time, but it looks like most people want some form of NTR as a possible option, while a little less than half really don't care for the idea. Optional NTR?

I'm putting together some framework stuff for a future update and I'm at a good place to start groundwork for possible NTR if any of you are interested. It's not really my fetish, but I'm not about to kink shame anyone. If I build a working NTR system it will have a clear opt in trigger (as in the game will clearly warn the player that they're about to trigger cuckold content)that can not afterward be disabled, since the lack of consent or control is apparently part of what makes NTR arousing...

It's one of those really difficult things that I've been putting off adding because it's not very sexy and has the potential to take a lot of time and creative energy to implement. My goals are: to provide the player with an alternative means to earn currency, move the main storyline along, and provide the player with satisfying non-H gameplay that doesn't subtract from the overall experience.
