Hooo boy! This one was a damn toughie, but also a ton of fun. And the version above is not yet final - I did some digital meddling with it, and may want to do more in a few days. I'm a big sucker for "threshold" function in Photoshop, but it doesn't fit well when I use soft pastel  - exactly as in this case. But I also have the softer scanned version:

HATCHING

This page is a good example of how chaotic - and yet intentional - my inking is. You can see a whole barrage of different inking techniques here - two different types for skies alone. And the last panel looks like something I would fucking hate for more than one panel  - but in ONE panel it works good, giving way more "information" than another style wold give in the same panel.

Is it a good way of treating your comics inking or is it not? I'm not sure, but I love it anyway. And at least ...

MEGALO BOX, SSSSSON!

Cheating my way into "coloring"

Something nice, something short

Fun fact - I remember that when I was inking this panel I was screaming at the top of my lungs at my friend (on the phone, I think?) because of 2016 election. And I mean I started inking it screaming and I finished even more frustrated. 

What a divisive year that was even for Russia, huh!

This panel changed a lot about my art

It might not look like a game changer, but I suddenly realized that one specific thing recently has been invading my work in a very aggressive and yet comforting way, and it all started around last December. 

At the time I was thinking a lot about doing linocuts at some point in the future (and I actually dipped my toe in it later with CHERNOBYL logo), and the look - but not the technique itself - somehow leaked onto the panel above. I used my favorite jeans cloth texture in a more collag...
