It all started with the idea of a "realistic" Noir character inserted into an annoyingly cute and sugary Saturday morning cartoon. I thought that might provide a platform for some cheap gags - and rough satire of the aspects I hated the most about bowlderized, corporate committee-written "children's fare".

I still find it amusing that one of the minions of one of the richest men in the galaxy is parked on a rickety four-legged chair....

It's hard to depict things happening on the mental/spiritual level in 2D black-and-white drawings. I hope this page gets the idea across that Max's mind is on a different scale from most folks.

Entering someone's mind against their will is a lot harder than with their permission, much as entering someone's body is. Even if they're not a skilled fighter, who can concentrate on a smooth entry when the person to be entered is vigorously chewing through your windpipe?

I think this is as extreme as I ever got with big poles in little holes. The sexy to sick imbalance hit me after I'd drawn it. And what's the point of drawing your own porn if it squicks you even a little?
