The 103rd No Haven Commission - Wind Swept

Rammionn returns with a second go round with a pair of horned one ladies.

This one definitely expanded from the pitch as the idea was to cut off around the upper back of the smaller one, but I'm glad it did as the pose is great with the position of the bigger one's hoof.

You can find more of their work here: https://twitter.com/Rammionn

This will be used for the above titled Assignment in the Deep Mou...

The 102nd No Haven Commission - Kobolds

Edit: After some feedback on the discord Verax was very nice and made some changes.

Hope you like this one.

If you do feel free to skip over the next paragraph, as I don't think this entirely worked, and I don't put that down on Verax who fulfilled the pitch as well as they were able. Doubly so after their recent Desert Kitties one which I still reckon is a top tier in terms of new race design.  So, I think the pitch itself may have had some flaws which means that's on me.<...

The 101st No Haven Commission - They Choose You

As a memorable beer advert once opined, good things come to those who...

...wait.

Tick follows tock, here's to your dream, random horses, etc.

This though is seriously good.

First time I've got something off Wren and they pretty much nailed the pitch. They also ended up adding an extra step which is great where the guantlet opens up a jaw.

The 100th No Haven Commission

(okay technically this is a bonus commission which don't normally get included in the count, and adding all those on it's been well over a hundred now, but shush, let me enjoy this)

For such a milestone it pretty much had to be this. This has been something I've wanted to do for so long and I'd even discussed it with a few artists over the years, but none of them thought they could do it or were only intersted in doing bits of it.

With 100 actually approaching I reached...

The 99th No Haven Commission - Lich

So pleased to be able to share a piece from Awasof again.

They pretty much nailed every element that I asked for. It really sells the spin I'm going with the Liches in No Haven that these are not the end of dungeon final bosses, these are desperate people clinging to their existence, clad in rags and bandages, wearing not a golden crown but a copper circlet.

I also want to highlight that the pose they suggested was way batter than the one I asked for. Such an improveme...

Dang this is going to be an absolutely humongous update from how all the planning and writing is going.

Hit a nice milestone yesterday in that all the writing for mermaids is now entirely done. So that's their lore examine, their first assignment, the encampment upgrade you'll need to be able to actually enslave them rather than just having them as a slaver, the starts, all of it. I really do like how they turned out as a race, and I'll ...

Wishing you a happy Chaos Dwarf day for those that observe, and may Hashut's grim tidings pass you by.

Dang for April 1st I so should have done a post to announce that from now on in the encampment you'll have overseers and labourers. Instead I dug out an old amusing amv I did several years back for the day, and posted that to the twitter.

The 98th No Haven Commission - Unattended

It's a full on artvalanche this week! Much preffered to be sure than the artpocalypse of old that should only be spoken of in appropriately hushed tones.

Starli crushes it yet again with their work and shows why I keep coming back for more everytime.

Bonus Commission - Putting the Squeeze On

Two days in a row posting something from entirely new artists. Savour this moment as this is not likely to come around again anytime soon :D

And what fantastic art it is that Anthology has provided! Love pretty much anything about this. To pick just one detail I do like the tattoo that you might recognise from another commission also featuring those naughty Aversol gangs who are up to no good.

The 97th No Haven Commission - Kreen Caravan Raid Aftermath

Always exciting when I get to share a new artist's work for the first time for the game.

Crocodilchik did a lovely job on this kreen lady, and had no issues whatsoever to work with, which is always nice when that happens. If this goes over well I'll certainly consider using them again.

Currently on the planning out and writing stage. Decided to do things differently for this update and going forward too. What I used to do was minimal planning and then do absolutely everything in RAGS as I go including all the writing. I'd then copy the text as I go into a document for backup in case of crashes and typo catching.

What I'm doing now is all the planning out and writing in a doc and then when all that's done I'll be able t...

The 96th No Haven Commission - Laughing Trickster Priestess

Joix returns for another one, and man what another one.

So much to love here. Though highlight for me has to be the pubic hair design which I worried might be too much but that the detail that Joix loved the most :D

Similar background to the one used for Gone for a Soldier though the banner on this one has definitely seen better days.. Love the graffiti too.

The 95th No Haven Commission - Desert Neko

The decidedly vivacious Verax returns for their fourth outing, and speaking personally this is by my favourite of the ones they've done for me.

There's just so much character to this one. Showing the pounce rather than the proceeding stalk was entirely their idea, and I love how they pulled it off in practice. Those sand dwelling kitties look suitably fierce and the orkhai's startled '...oh bugger' is just as good. I also like her earrings which share a colour with the hair dye us...

Been mainly been doing the planning for the whole bunch of assignments in this update to fill in previously done commissions. Today was puzzling out what I'm going to do with that spa drider one. Still don't even have a name for that one that I'm entirely happy with yet.

Rough gist is that it's going to be like inverse Hold Back the Dark where you send your guys and gals to the mountains again but this time you want to be nice to them. T...

The 94th No Haven Commission - Land Piracy

The simply stupendous Starli is back for yet another one, and once again brings something really great.

I love the expresssions especially but the terror-bird (previously seen in the company of a certain single asanei femail lawyer) is great too. The pirate stamp on their butts was also a fun touch.

The 93rd No Haven Commission - Ripe for Exploitation

Seriously impressed by the turnaround on this one as this was one of the winners from the most recent finished poll. Given that I've got one outstanding now from January of last year with another aritst that makes it even more so.

It's also the first time out for a new artist in Ramionn. They did some work for one of my patrons. I was impressed with their stuff, and given I also got a reccomendation too, I wanted to give them a go myself.

I really hope you like it as t...

To sort out the first order of business:

Finallly had that eyes appointment at the hospital. Didn't go as well as I'd hoped, as I'd really wanted to hear they were entirely better. They have at least improved enough that I can occasionally wear contact lenses again which is so much better than being stuck wearing glasses. Seeing them now in June so ideally I'll get the all clear then.

HMV - Blondes so Sweet

No your eyes do not decieve you. I've actually finally finished another HMV.

This was a commission like the Ass Up one from all the way back in the May of 2019, and the guy who funded it showed incredible patience given I've been working on this on, and mostly off, for about a year. They were very understanding that the game development side of things came first for me, and this was something I'd every so often do in time where I'd normally otherwise be chilling out. Thankfully video ...

No Haven 0.981 TF Edition - Hotfix

Hey got this within that 7-10 days I mentioned from the Update. Plan now is to give it another 7-10 days and if this seems to at least be mostly sorted this will be the public release. If not then I'll do one more hotfix here, then that will definitely be the public release, Already made a start on 0.99 so either way that's not going to hold up work on that.

Been way too long since I've done a proper one of these.

Okay so the straw that broke the came's back was my eye appointment getting cancelled on me at the beginning of Jan. It didn't quite lead to me sitting naked in a coffee shop but it wasn't far off. That's not going to be until the end of this month now, the new appointment not the public nudity, and while I think the eyes are a lot better than they were, actual confirmation would be wonderful. Being able to wear contact lenses aga...

The Combined up to Feb Commission Polls

To catch up what I'm going to do with this one as I owe two main commision polls (Nov/Dec and Jan/Feb) and an Alternate (Jan) is that both the first place and second place in these polls will win and get their commmissions done. Whatever comes in third I'll have an Alternate one included for each option and that will also get a comm. That'll get back up to date for the next one in March.

Bonus Commission - Sphynx

Now this one has been long in every definition of the word.

Right I'll put the grousing in a quotation so you can skip past it to me saying nice stuff about D-Merry

So once upon a time I commissioned an artist to do a bonus. Roll on about a year later and nothing has happened outside of a sketch. Ended up getting the piece off Starli.
Roll on another year and the artist offers to do something else to make up for it. As recently (well re...

Twas the night before christmas and not a creature was stirring apart from muggins here putting up a commission polll that should have gone up last month.

Sorry for the silence.

Accentuating the positive this is the first week since the last fortnightly that I haven't had to go to the hospital for my eyes at least once. Record was four times in one week which is basically a commute at that point. Currently on three different kind of eye drops, one I'm taking hourly which is fun, and I'm seeing the proper specialists in mid Jan to hopefully sort this out for good.

So PSA I guesss. Turns out if you have persistent issues with your eyes which I've mentioned a couple of times in the last month or so and put it down to allergies it may not actually be allergies. Also do not do what I did for several weeks which was trust Dr. Google that this level of light sensivity was down to stress and/or anxiert (which to be fair checked out) and would go away in time. Finally worked out last monday this was getting silly, stopped being a bloody fool,  and booked ...
