All right... Did one of my favorite BNHA girl, Mei. This time I tried working with a slightly simpler coloring style, but kept it shaded enough to give it a little depth. I wonder if working in a style like this might look good for a color comic in the future. Hmmm

New guy Billy! So that completes our cast for Chapter 2. The main players going forward will be Marvin, Sharlene, Envy, Mi-hee, Billy, and Davy (to some degree) for the duration of this chapter. Events are in motion that can't be stopped, but first Billy needs to have a word with Marvin... and he may have something in store for him too.

With the construction out of the way I can focus exclusively on line work and line quality. This is often a fun step for me as I get to refine curvature and form. Her face has been tweaked for a slightly cuter expression and lines are drawn delicately to maximize the visual impact of the scene.

Sharlene makes an offer to Marvin once more, showing off a very small pair of panties this time in hopes that he may finally take the bait...

Someone predicted a sexy shot of Sharlene on this page and they weren't far off. There's always a fair amount of construction that goes on when working on large panel figures like this so here you get to see it in rough form. I tend to take extra caution with measurements and proportions as I feel getting those things right lend a certain level of realism and help amplify the erotic effect... but then again maybe not. 

Regardless, this panel will still need some tweaking and adjustments b...

Marvin recalls his situation... Had fun with the textures on this page and managed to get a good shadowy tone to set the mood. Designing his science project was a little tough but I think I managed to get something between a leaf blower, vacuum pump, and "what the fuck is that"? Well, we'll find out eventually...

All right, back on my grind. Here's a peek at page 11 as Marvin recalls some uh... frustrations.

I'm currently lamenting the amount of time I normally spend sketching, so I'm experimenting with doing a little less detail work in this phase and trying to figure out the rest in the line art step. Maybe if I can build some confidence in doing so it'll speed up the process a bit.

Incubus in Training (Femboy Rough Design)

Took a crack at designing a companion character for one of my older OCs Friday. He's an incubus in training. Hopefully he will graduate and his horns will grow even bigger. There are still some design choices I'm uncertain about so I may try to clean this up and add a little more color yet.

Here's a peek at the line work for page 10. There's always an internal debate going on over how much detail I should draw in smaller panels. Just enough, and not much more is an area of constant refinement. These panels will probably need a little more attention but I think this one will be done soon.

I also *finally* discovered that I can manually adjust the position of the perspective grid with the rulers in clip studio. That has plagued me for years... the things you discover on accide...

Now we catch up with our beloved hero, and he's getting quite the reaction from some of the girls at school. I wanted Marvin's newfound attention to make him feel uncomfortable, but I thought it would be fun to show the initial shot from Davy's point of view before switching to Marvin. Comparative reactions can go a long way in solidifying character personalities. Plus it's just good fun. Long live Davy.

Working on a hall of girls. These aren't characters in the story per-se, but they're extras I need for the scene. Even with figures like these I try to give them some variety and a little personality so they don't feel too generic. I think it makes the setting more believable anyways since there aren't uniforms in most American public schools. You get to wear what you want! And trust me... I saw plenty of whale tales in those halls...

My favorite part of this page was trying to get the dream sequence for Sharlene's memories right. I considered drawing the imagery from scratch, but decided it would be better if I used some asset art from Chapter 1 as it would better invoke the feeling of memories. Page 7 is up! Fun fact: this page was mostly improvised... The script called for this scene to be one page, but I decided that this moment needed a little more space, so the shower scene will last for two pages instead one. This brief setup will also give the following page a little more context.

Say that 5 times fast. I decided to line this panel ahead of the other ones since the pose turned out nicely, but the page still needs some work and fine tuning of the perspective in the opening sequential shot. I received some requests to stream my screen toning process so I might save this panel for the very end and work on screen tones for Sunday's stream.

This was an important panel to me, and I'm really happy with how it came out. This page is almost done and it wraps up this scene of the story before moving on to the next.
