On Sunday January 10 1993, 54-year-old pig farmer Ralph Vollmer and his 49-year-old wife Joan returned home from a week-long interstate trip. The couple, who lived in the Victorian country town of Antwerp, had driven four-and-a-half hours west to attend a six-day religious convention in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. Ralph, a devout and ardent Christian, had been eager to attend the event, and while Joan didn’t share her husband’s fervour, she attended church regularly and ...

Pedro Rodrigues Filho, or Pedrinho as he came to be called, was born on June 17 1954. He had a misshapen skull due to a deliberate kick his mother, Manuela, had received to her pregnant belly from her husband, Pedro Rodrigues Senior. Given the level of violence their father inflicted upon their mother, Pedrinho and his seven younger siblings were lucky to be born at all.

We have some news for you all regarding merch. We are moving to a new merch provider, and with that will come a lot of new options and designs and far cheaper shipping options for those outside of the USA. The bad news is that the new provider won't allow us to offer a discount for patrons. So now is your last chance to make use of the patron discount if there is anything you want from our current merch store, as we will be switching over to the new merch store very, very soon.

Situated 105 kilometres east of the capital city of Adelaide, Wynarka’s main street offers little but a post office, fire station, and public pay phone, plus a football oval and tennis courts nearby. Set against Bavaria’s flat, sweeping farmlands, meadows, and pine forests, the acreage earned its unofficial name from a nearby hamlet called Kaifeck, with ‘hinter’ being German for ‘behind’.
